During major natural disasters, such as the one Venezuela experienced a couple of weeks ago, and after rescue efforts, medical care for the injured, and the recovery of victims have been completed, faith in a Higher Power often plays a fundamental role for survivors, becoming a tool for faster healing.
During the recent Holy Week celebrations, I visited several sites in the city center—particularly churches—as part of the various religious activities marking this date of great significance in Christianity.
In this particular post, I’m sharing a couple of photos of parishioners visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral of Barquisimeto, a church with a modernist architectural style characterized by its roof, which, when viewed from above, resembles an upside-down four-petaled flower.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Durante los grandes desastres naturales como el que experimentó Venezuela un par de semanas atrás, y luego de concluir las labores de rescate, atención de heridos y recuperación de las víctimas, la fe en un Poder Superior suele jugar un papel fundamental en los sobrevivientes, convirtiéndose en una herramienta para una sanación mas temprana.
Durante la reciente celebración de la pasada Semana Santa, estuve recorriendo algunos en el casco central de la ciudad, particularmente iglesias, dentro de las diversas actividades religiosas de esa fecha que reviste gran importancia del cristianismo.
En este post en particular, comparto un par de fotos de los feligreses visitando la Catedral Metropolitana de Barquisimeto, un templo con un estilo arquitectónico modernista que se caracteriza por su techo, que desde las alturas, se asemeja una flor de cuatro pétalos boca abajo.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
