PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 151: Christmas Dinner [ENG/ESP]

Christmas Dinner
These first days of 2026 have been quite turbulent and full of uncertainty and confusion in Venezuela, due to recent events that are public knowledge and have been the most prominent news stories in recent hours. Fortunately, everything is returning to normal.
As I have described in previous posts, Christmas in Venezuela is usually celebrated with a large family dinner on the night of December 24, unlike many other countries where the 25th is usually more important, and the celebration is more intimate.
This year, as in recent years, I was invited to dinner at my sister's in-laws' house, and as is customary in our country, traditional Christmas dishes were served, consisting of hallaca, pan de jamón, chicken salad, roasted pork, and any other dish, national or otherwise, that the family desired.
A few minutes before sitting down at the table, I had the opportunity to photograph some of the guests, such as my sister and our mother, who appear in the two images I am sharing.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
Cena de Navidad
Estos primeros días de 2026, han estado bastante agitados y llenos de incertidumbre y confusión en Venezuela, por los acontecimientos recientes y que son de conocimiento público, siendo la noticia mas destacada en las últimas horas. Afortunadamente, todo está volviendo a la normalidad.
Como lo he descrito en posts anteriores, la Navidad en Venezuela se suele festejar con una gran cena familiar la noche del 24 de Diciembre, a diferencia de muchos otros países donde el día 25 suele tener mayor importancia, y la celebración es mas íntima.
Este año, al igual que los años recientes, fuí invitado a cenar en la casa de los suegros de mi hermana, y como es costumbre en nuestro país, se sirvieron los platos tradicionales de la cocina navideña, la cual consiste de hallaca, pan de jamón, ensalada de gallina, pernil horneado y cualquier otro platillo, nacional o no, que la familia desee.
Unos minutos antes de sentarnos en la mesa, tuve la oportunidad de fotografiar a algunos de los asistentes, como es el caso de mi hermana y de nuestra madre, quienes aparecen en el par de imágenes que comparto.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
