Christmas Eve

Christmas in Venezuela is usually celebrated with a large family dinner on the night of December 24, attended by relatives, friends, and sometimes neighbors, as long as the physical space and budget available to the hosts and guests allow it.

This year, as in many previous years, I was invited to dinner at my sister's in-laws' house, and as is customary in our country, they served traditional Christmas dishes, which consist of hallaca, pan de jamón, chicken salad, and baked pork leg, although on this occasion they decided to substitute the ham for a baked turkey stuffed with pork, accompanied by a green apple compote.

At some point during the evening, some of us went out to the backyard to take some group photos, which I took advantage of to photograph my 23-year-old nephew, the same age as my youngest son, while he was trying to call his girlfriend.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Víspera de Navidad

La Navidad en Venezuela se suele celebrar con una gran cena familiar la noche del 24 de Diciembre, a la que acuden familiares, amigos, y en ocasiones, vecinos, siempre y cuando el espacio físico y el presupuesto disponible de los anfitriones e invitados, lo permitan.

Este año, al igual que muchos de los años anteriores, fuí invitado a cenar en la casa de los suegros de mi hermana, y como es costumbre en nuestro país, sirvieron los platos tradicionales de la cocina navideña, la cual consiste de hallaca, pan de jamón, ensalada de gallina y pernil horneado, aunque en esta oportunidad decidieron sustituir el pernil por un pavo horneado relleno de cerdo, acompañado de una compota de manzanas verdes.

En algún momento de la noche, algunos de los asistentes salimos al patio trasero de la casa para tomarnos algunas fotos grupales, ocasión que aproveché para fotografiar a mi sobrino de 23 años, la misma edad del menor de mis dos hijos, mientras intentaba llamar por teléfono a su novia.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
