Palm Sunday
In the Christian tradition, Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where he was welcomed by crowds who scattered palm branches as he rode through the city on a donkey. This date also marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes next Sunday, known as Easter Sunday or Resurrection Sunday.
At the parish I usually attend every week, the priest invited all the parishioners to gather at a small park located a short distance from the church, where he began Mass with the blessing of the palms—in this case, olive branches—and then led us back to the church where the ceremony continued.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
Domingo de Ramos
En la tradición cristiana, el Domingo de Ramos es la celebración de la entrada triunfal de Jesús en Jerusalén, donde es recibido por las multitudes quienes esparcen ramas de palma a su paso por la ciudad en el lomo de un burro. Además, esta fecha marca el inicio de la Semana Santa, que concluye el próximo domingo, conocido como Domingo de Pascua o Domingo de Resurrección.
En la parroquia donde acostumbro acudir todas las semanas, el párroco invitó a todos los feligreses a trasladarnos hasta una pequeño parque ubicado a corta distancia del templo, donde dió inicio a la Misa con la bendición de las palmas, en este caso ramos de olivo, para luego dirigirnos nuevamente a la iglesia donde continuó la ceremonia.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
