[ENG] Cutting down trees in urban areas. 🪓🌳 / [ESP] Tala de árboles en zonas urbanas. 🪓🌳
Buen día amigos, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un trabajo que se realizó ayer (22 de enero del 2022) por parte de los organismos gubernamentales y junta de vecinos de mi sector.
La tala de árboles se da cuando la especie no tiene ningún rebrote, su tronco está totalmente seco, por sufrir de plagas (irrecuperable) o el árbol representanta un peligro para los usuarios (vidas humanas).
Good day friends, today I want to share with you a work that was done yesterday (January 22, 2022) by government agencies and neighborhood council of my sector.
The felling of trees occurs when the species does not have any regrowth, its trunk is totally dry, due to pests (irrecoverable) or the tree represents a danger to users (human lives)
La tala de árboles o deforestación es una actividad de ingeniería a través del cual se usan herramientas y máquinarias para cortar uno o varios árboles, esta actividad afecta la vida silvestre que exista en ellos.
En zonas urbanas y áreas públicas, esta tarea está prohibida para los habitantes del sector o instituciones públicas y privadas sin previa autorización por las autoridades municipales competentes.
The felling of trees or deforestation is an engineering activity through which tools and machinery are used to cut one or more trees, this activity affects the wildlife that exists in them
In urban areas and public areas, this task is prohibited for the inhabitants of the sector or public and private institutions without prior authorization by the competent municipal authorities.
Por existir un riesgo inminente de caída generando así un peligro en la seguridad vial, peatonal y a bienes cercanos al árbol. Este procedimiento fue realizado por la autoridad competente (CORPOELEC con una previa inspección técnica.
Because there is an imminent risk of falling, thus generating a danger in road safety, pedestrian and sercano goods to the tree. This procedure was carried out by the competent authority (CORPOELEC with a previous technical inspection.
Para este proceso la institución encargada de la poda de estos árboles uso una grúa telescópica, una cierra eléctrica y una cuadrilla de hombres 6 obreros incluyendo al operador de la grúa. Mientras uno de los estaba en la cesta de la grúa cortando con la cierra eléctrica los troncos y ramas más altas, el resto de la cuadrilla se encargaba de cortar los troncos en pedazos más fáciles de trasladar para así despejar la vía pública.
For this process the institution in charge of pruning these trees used a telescopic crane, an electric lock and a crew of 6 men including the crane operator. While one of them was in the crane basket cutting with the electric closure the tallest trunks and branches, the rest of the crew was in charge of cutting the trunks into pieces easier to move in order to clear the public road.
Para finalizar debo aclarar que por las condiciones de afectación del árbol ya se habían presentado problemas por caída de sus ramas superiores dañando así el tendido eléctrico (caída del sistema eléctrico del conjunto) y obstaculizando la vía pública.
Finally, I must clarify that due to the conditions of affectation of the tree, problems had already been presented due to the fall of its upper branches, thus damaging the power line (fall of the electrical system of the whole) and hindering the public road.
No menos importante debo aclarar que este trabajo se viene solicitando por parte de la junta de vecinos desde hace más de 2 años, pero se el ente responsable no hacía caso porque para poder proceder con la tala primero debían identifica el porque la corteza del árbol se había afectado tanto. El gerente mencionó que lo estaban estudiando porque existen personas que afectan la corteza del árbo intencionalmente o lo debilitan para que muera lentamente, estas acciones están sancionadas económicamente por la ley ambiental en nuestro país, y si este era el caso se debía sancionar a los individuos o actores responsables.
No less important I must clarify that this work has been requested by the neighborhood council for more than 2 years, but the responsible entity did not pay attention because in order to proceed with the logging they first had to identify why the bark of the tree had been affected so much. The manager mentioned that they were studying it because there are people who affect the bark of the arbo intentionally or weaken it so that it dies slowly, these actions are economically sanctioned by the environmental law in our country, and if this was the case the individuals or actors responsible should be sanctioned.
Para apoyar a la institución encargada de hacer cumplir está actividad (tala de árboles) la junta de vecinos les garantizo la logística, donde se les dio desayuno, hidratación y almuerzo al personal de la cuadrilla. Con esto me despido y espero sea de interés mi artículo. Gracias a la institución encargada (CORPOELEC) por hacer la tala de estos árboles, evitando así, futuros daños en el sector.
To support the institution in charge of enforcing this activity (felling of trees) the neighborhood council guaranteed the logistics, where breakfast, hydration and lunch were given to the staff of the crew. With this I say goodbye and hope my article is of interest. Thanks to the institution in charge (CORPOELEC) for cutting down these trees, thus avoiding future damage to the sector.

Congratulations dear engineer. Indeed, despite the greenery of the pruned or felled trees, their stems showed, as their photos show, a significant deterioration and were even riddled with termites.
Felicitaciones estimado ingeniero. En efecto, a pesar del verdor de los árboles podados o talados sus tallos demostraban, como lo muestran sus fotos, un deterioro significativo e incluso estaban minados de comejenes o termitas.
Independientemente de las razones, siempre es triste ver cómo cortan un árbol (o varios), la pregunta es: ¿sembrarán uno nuevo donde ese fue talado? He visto tantos sitios donde cortan y dejan esos pedazos de troncos ahí, no hacen el trabajo completo, la imagen es de desolación...

Yes, that's correct. Instead of cutting down trees, I guess they should have relocated them to other more appropriate and sustainable vicinities. Just a thought.
