Hola, Queridos Hivers!

Hello, Dear Hivers!

¡Hola queridos Hivers!

Hello dear Hivers! The first time I read Harry Potter i was like: "This JK something is a genius!" So, later, I investigated a little bit more about her (I read all the Wikipedia page about her and a book called "Conversations with JK Rowling") and that's where my admiration for her was born. So, as you must know, one of the ways I show all my love, respect and admiration is by drawing/painting, so I made this portrait of her with some of the great things she's created (the ickabog wasn't out yet when I began) in the background and flashes of love everywhere.

J. K. Rowling is my idol for writing. I wish I can be like her one day, sometimes when I'm writing I doubt if what I'm doing it's actually right, and when quitting crosses I look toward my bookcase and see all the books I have of her I think:"everything is possible!"

The fact that no matter how many times her book was rejected and yet she kept on trying really inspired me. Believing in yourself is the key, and the reason (I believe) Harry Potter exists, I mean, imagine a world without such an amazing book...

So, here's my painting of this amazing woman, I hope you like it!!

Proceso | Process:

20200912_161547COLLAGE.jpg

20200912_161600COLLAGE.jpg

First, I sketched her face. It took me some time because at the beginning she looked like Emilia Clark, hahaha, but I erased it and made it again until she looked like herself.

Then, I drew some references of her book behind her, and I painted it with blue, green and purple, colors I relate to Harry Potter for some reason, hahaha.

Then I painted her face... I used some real make up for her cheeks and her eyes (yes, I know, crazy, but everyone's got their technics ). With the hair I used paints and crayon colors (another weird technique, haha).

Then, I looked at the background and it yelled at me, "change me, I look like $#@+" "Wow, wow... Take it easy," I agreed with him, but I couldn't allow him such language, so after I gave it a lesson ("don't say those words, my dear" I begged) I made beautiful clouds associated to her imagination for creating all those great things! After that, I took all my bravery and made every little reference of her book (about 20).

And, after I made the golden frame, I singed with a marker my house color (blue of Ravenclaw) and made this post to officially finish it to hang it on my wall!

¡Espero que te guste!

¡I Hope you like it!

Tell me in the comments, What references from the Harry Poter world can you see in the background of the painting? It's gonna be like a little game!

I do. My uncle doesn't like Harry Potter. He prefers The Lord of The Rings. 🙈
I like both. 😁

If you read the books you're also going to enjoy them. They're fantastic. 👍😀

What a marvelous portrait and tribute to what I consider one of the best authors of the 21st Century! She is truly genius and you couldn't pick a better to pattern your writing after.

Thanks for sharing the words and the stages of your portrait. I really enjoy seeing how artists compile their work.

The idea of using makeup to paint the face in a painting is awesome and very creative!!!

I think I see Hedwig the owl in the upper left, and maybe a quidditch broom next to her ear on the left? I like Harry and have seen a movie or two, but when reading a book series I was more of a Twilight person. :)

Thank you! The makeup made it a lot easier 😂

AL FIN ALGUIEN ME RESPONDIÓ LO QUE QUERÍA!!! 😆😂🙏

Yes! Hedwig and the broom are there! You have a good eye!👍 What else do you see?

I've read all the books and watched all the movies (potterhead here 🙈) and I love them! I think you would enjoy them.⚡

I haven't read Twilight, maybe I should. What do you think?

What else do I see? Well I see the black cat and the 9 3/4 in the upper right. I remember that number has significance but I don't remember why! (Apparently a train station according to Google!) I also see the sword of Gryffindor. And other things that I can't identify!

On Twilight, it was an entertaining fantasy but Edward was a bit too obsessed with Bella, wanting to control her, which isn't healthy. I thought it was an interesting and romantic series, and I wrote a few articles on an old blog about it, back when the books were new. I think I'll try to find them and post there here sometime!
