Moonlit Bike Ride

I just finished a 21.078km bike ride that lasted about 0hh:53mm:53ss !

Well, I guess I found the work around to my current lack of motivation for running. Like I was saying, with this heat wave, I really don't feel like running, but biking isn't bad at all.

So, Wednesday evening, just like Monday, I took the old mountain bike for a ride to finish the day. It was a little later though, so even if I chose a route very similar, I thought I would need to shorten it to avoid riding in complete darkness too long. I didn't dig up my night gear yet, not even my headlight, no idea where these things are hidden in the house. But for the same reason, it was a bit more intense, and I ended up riding pretty much the same distance. But a bit faster, not a huge difference but I guess it's progression: 3 minutes less moving time and 5 minutes less for elapsed time. To be fair, I really wasn't looking at improving, I just wanted to cover as much distance as possible before nightfall. I did finish after it got dark though, and when I arrived home, the Moon was already bright in the night sky.

Once again, lots of wildlife along the way, even when following bigger roads. As usual, plenty of deer, but this time lots of rabbits, including a tiny bunny that was following its mother. So cute! They were close to one of these bigger roads though, I hope nothing happens to them.

With just this second ride, I'm already the Local Legend on one of the Strava segments! And with the heat not supposed to get better in the next few days, I will probably add more rides to the list.

Let's see how we do in June. I'd really like to get back into a bit of running, but again I will probably wait for milder temperatures.
Keep Exhausting!
