31 de diciembre, día de alegría y nostalgia al despedir el año 2022, ya que nos deja muchos recuerdos bonitos, y situaciones fuertes pero Dios nunca se apartó de mi lado. Quiero compartirles como fue mi día de fin de año.

Desde muy temprano me fui a casa de mi suegra, ella me dijo que no vendría su hija mayor ni sus nietas y solo la pasaría con su hija menor, su esposo, mi esposo y yo. Sé que en su corazón se sentía un poquito triste ya que no iba a estar su hija mayor, ni su otro hijo porque que le tocaba trabajar ese día. En todo momento estuve en su casa ayudándola y empezamos a preparar las hallacas.

December 31st, a day of joy and nostalgia as we say goodbye to the year 2022, because it leaves us with many beautiful memories and strong situations, but God never left my side. I want to share with you what my New Year's Eve day was like.

Early in the morning I went to my mother-in-law's house, she told me that her eldest daughter and granddaughters would not come and that she would only spend it with her youngest daughter, her husband, my husband and me. I know that in her heart she felt a little sad that her eldest daughter would not be there, nor her other son because he had to work that day. At all times I was at her house helping her and we began to prepare the hallacas.

Amasé la harina y mi suegra organizó todo para empezar amarrar las hallacas. Ella me dijo que no haríamos tantas cómo la otra vez porque solo estaríamos nosotros mismos.

I kneaded the flour and my mother-in-law organized everything to start tying the hallacas. She told me that we wouldn't make as many as last time because it would just be us.

Me salieron un poco mejor ya que la otra vez no sabía mucho amarrarlas😂. Con mucho amor empecé a hacer las hallacas y todo era más rápido.

Está vez el guiso solo era de carne de res, sus verduras, pasas, y aceitunas, quedó bueno.

This time the stew was only beef, vegetables, raisins and olives, it was good.

La hija menor de mi suegra también se puso amarrar hallacas. Ella apenas tiene 10 años, es una niña muy aplicada e inteligente. Ella fue la que me enseñó amarrar las hallacas para que me quedaran perfectas😂🥰.

My mother-in-law's youngest daughter also started tying hallacas. She is barely 10 years old, she is a very dedicated and intelligent girl. She was the one who taught me how to tie the hallacas so they would be perfect😂🥰.

Este fue el resultado de cómo nos quedó, estaban bien amarradas para que al momento de ponerlas a cocinar no se rompieran, salieron un total de 25. Quedaron perfectas y muy divinas. Les cuento yo no sabía hacer hallacas, en las navidades anteriores mi mamá las compraba ya hechas, y no tenía idea de como se preparaban, pero gracias a mi suegrita bella ya tengo el conocimiento 😍.

Se hicieron las 05:00 pm, a mi suegra le entró una llamada en su teléfono, era su hija mayor diciéndole que la esperara porque la iba a pasar con ella. Para mi suegra fue una emoción porque vendría su hija y nietas. En su cara se le notó el cambio de semblante andaba contenta. A la hora llegaron y luego todos contentos empezamos a ordenar para ponernos bonitas y así recibir el año nuevo. Nos arreglamos en pelo y todas quedamos hermosas.

This was the result of how it turned out, they were well tied so that when we put them to cook they would not break, a total of 25 came out, they were perfect and very divine. I didn't know how to make hallacas, in previous Christmas my mom used to buy them already made, and I had no idea how to prepare them, but thanks to my beautiful mother-in-law I already have the knowledge 😍.

It was 05:00 pm, my mother in law got a call on her phone, it was her oldest daughter telling her to wait for her because she was going to spend it with her. My mother-in-law was very excited because her daughter and granddaughters were coming. Her face showed the change in her countenance, she was happy. They arrived on time and then we all started to tidy up to make ourselves beautiful to welcome the New Year. Our hair was done and we all looked beautiful.

Estábamos lindos todos, muy felices 😍 empezamos a tomarnos muchas fotos para luego ir todos a cenar y dar gracias a Dios por todas sus bellas bendiciones.

Por supuesto no podía faltar la foto con mi esposo, gracias le doy a la vida por tan bella persona que me tocó.

We were all beautiful, very happy 😍 we started taking lots of pictures and then we all went to dinner and thanked God for all his beautiful blessings.

Of course I could not miss the photo with my husband, I thank life for such a beautiful person who touched me.

Bueno llegó la hora de cenar, todos contentos nos fuimos al comedor.

Well, it was time for dinner, and we all went to the dining room to eat.

Todo listo, nos empezamos acomodar. Éramos 9 personas contando a los niños, oramos dándole las gracias a Dios por tan buen alimento.

Quedó espectacular el arroz negro era de pollo y ni se diga la ensalada estaba muy buena, todos queríamos repetir.

Everything was ready, we began to settle in. We were 9 people counting the children, we prayed thanking God for such good food.

It was spectacular, the black rice was chicken and not to mention the salad was very good, we all wanted to repeat.

Nos fuimos a sentar en el frente de la casa, todos divirtiéndose, los niños jugando, mi esposo parecía otro niño más tirando fosforito eso era uno detrás del otro😂. Estábamos felices esperando de que se hiciera la hora para dar el feliz año.

Por otra parte, mi corazón se sentía aguado por no tener a mis padres y hermanos conmigo, los extraño mucho. En todo momento les estuve enviando mensajes y preguntándoles que hacían, eso era de cada rato. Me pasaron fotos de su cena navideña. Le doy gracias a Dios por mis padres ellos son el pilar de mi vida, y le pido que en este nuevo año tenga la oportunidad de ir con mi esposo hasta Colombia y compartir con mi familia.

We went to sit in the front of the house, everyone having fun, the kids playing, my husband looked like just another kid throwing phosphorite that was one after the other😂. We were happy waiting for the time to say happy new year.

On the other hand, my heart felt watery not having my parents and siblings with me, I miss them so much. All the time I was texting them and asking them what they were doing, that was from time to time. They passed me pictures of their Christmas dinner. I thank God for my parents, they are the pillar of my life, and I pray that in this new year I will have the opportunity to go with my husband to Colombia and share with my family.

Se hicieron las 12:00 AM, la hora más esperada. Todos nos abrazamos dándonos el feliz año nuevo, unos con lágrimas en los ojos, otros gritando de emoción. Mi esposo me dió un abrazo muy fuerte, empezaron a explotar los cohetes, era tan hermoso, y las gaitas a todo volumen 😍.

It was 12:00 AM, the most awaited hour. We all hugged giving each other happy new year, some with tears in our eyes, others shouting with emotion. My husband gave me a big hug, the rockets started to explode, it was so beautiful, and the bagpipes at full volume 😍.

Feliz año nuevo, para todos! no dejen nunca de soñar y no paren de luchar por construir una vida mejor y aunque la vida tenga altas y bajas, no dejen que les quiten la sonrisa, ni que le apaguen la luz de la esperanza.
