#freewrite #weekend :: Single Prompt Option: second attempt

avatar

She took a deep breath and reflected for a long while. The view of the sky through her window sill looked gloomy, very much reflecting the way she was feeling. What went wrong, she asked herself. Was it something she missed or was there some setting that could have been tweaked better.

When she was told the results, she couldn't truly accept it. She thought she had it the first time and she had a lot riding on this. Her mind, her body and her spiritual self were all set and ready, complemented by the environment and setting which she made sure was according to the guidelines that were set.

It wasn't easy, she had to admit. It took a lot out of her the first round and she gave it all she had, her time, her effort. She followed all the rules, she made sure every step was completed successfully according to protocol, she was certain of it. And then it was all a waiting game. Nothing much can be done after that but just wait for the results.

But it was not meant to be. The results were negative and there was nothing she could do about it except to redo everything again, step by step, phase by phase. Maybe her problem was too much confidence, too much certainty. Perhaps she needed to bring it down a notch or two.

She was grateful she was given a second chance. She will have to leave it to the powers above on her second attempt and try again, although in truth, there is no try but just do her very best again.
