Hola amigos de Hive, espero que tengan una linda tarde, para los que están en Venezuela como yo, con un hermoso día lluvioso, y un feliz día, mañana o noche para los demás compañeros que escriben desde diferentes rincones de este hermoso planeta verde y azul. Bueno, les cuento que desde hace algún tiempo he querido publicar en esta hermosa comunidad, he leído algunas de sus iniciativas y siempre me quedo con las ganas de contribuir con algo.

Me encantan las plantas, bueno, la naturaleza en general, soy admiradora en gran manera de la Creación y mediante ella puedo conocer las increíbles cualidades de nuestro Creador.

Tengo algunas plantas en mi casa, no tengo jardín, así que las tengo en macetas. La verdad es que ellas son muy nobles porque confieso que no soy una abnegada jardinera. Normalmente estoy muy ocupada y hay días en los que ni siquiera salgo al porche de mi casa donde están las plantas. Así que en esos días me olvidó de ellas. Me apena decirlo pero es la verdad.

Pero mis plantas son fieles, siempre están allí esperando por mí. Otra cosita que quiero confesarles es que la mayoría de mis plantas las compro mi esposo aunque no se le ocurre siquiera regarlas jajaja. Mi mamá viene de vez en cuando y las riega, las riego yo de forma intermitente o mi hijo cuando lo obligo a hacerlo porque yo estoy ocupada y me acuerdo.

En un tiempo no tenía ni una sola planta, porque era mucha responsabilidad para mí y casi nunca estaba en casa, pero mi hermano mayor me regaló una planta, yo no quería aceptarla. En ese entonces aún no había nacido mi hijo, así que fue como si hubiese adoptado a un niño. Fueron días muy tensos, tenía miedo de que se muriera, la regaba todos los días, pero poco tiempo después la planta murió, pues según la estaba regando demasiado.

Muy apenada le conté a mi hermano lo sucedido y él me dijo no te preocupes que yo te regalo otra 😱 y eso hizo, pero esta vez me explico con cuánta frecuencia debía regarla. Así que ella si sobrevivió 😅, pero sentí que era algo que no podía hacer en ese momento.

Así es que, siempre entendí que tener plantas es una responsabilidad. Ahora tengTres de estas plantaso unas cuantas plantas no muy delicadas que adornan mi porche. Pero el día Sábado mi esposo llegó a casa con un sorprendente bouquet.

El bouquet contenía una gran variedad de hermosas plantas. La verdad es que la belleza de ellas me impresionó. Todas y absolutamente eran peculiares, coloridas y muy hermosas. De todas ellas, solo una era totalmente verde.

Lamentablemente no tenía macetas disponible, pero la persona que le regaló estás plantas, en realidad era palitos de ellas, le dijo que las sembrará ese mismo día.

Así que a mi esposo se le ocurrió que las sembramos en casa de mi mamá que vive muy cerca y tiene terreno donde sembrarlas. Así que eso hicimos, fuimos hasta allá y sembramos todas las plantas. Mi mamá dispuso para ellas una granja lineal adjunta a la pared que divide su porche del de su vecino.

Después de sembrarlas le agregamos un poco más de tierra con abono y estiércol de chivo que mi hermano le había llevado.

No soy experta en este arte, pero espero que eso esté bien. Así que esperaré estos próximos días para evaluar el resultado. Entonces, mis planes son esperar que estén bien firmes y luego extraer de allí para sembrar unas para mí después de comprar las macetas.

Tres de estas plantas son Croto, o al menos así las conozco yo, también llamadas Croton (Codiaeum variegatum nombre científico), es de la familia de las Euforbiaceas. Estas plantas son originarias de Malasia, nunca se me hubiese ocurrido. Aquí en Venezuela es bastante común ver algunas de sus variedades en sus casas, tanto en exteriores como en interiores y es que hay una gran variedad de ellas.

Según Guía de Jardinería ( S.F.):

El crotón es un género de plantas que incluye más de 100 variedades. Su forma y follaje pueden variar y vienen en varios colores como el amarillo, el rojo, el cobre, el verde, el rosa, el marfil, el naranja y el marrón. Estos se extienden por sus hojas atractivas.

Quería nombrar cada una de las variaciones que trajo mi esposo, por su nombre personal, pero mi internet ha estado fácil y se me dificultó mucho la investigación. Pero creo que encontré el nombre de las variedades de Crotones de este bouquet, los cuyales indico en la descripción de cada foto. Sin embargo las otras especies no logré identifcarlas, pero igual las amé.

Algunos de los nombres que pude encontrar, es Croton Mamey o Crotón Mammy. Es demasiado hermoso porque tienes unas largas hojas de colores rojo, verde y amarillo. Me parece que es todo un espectáculo y creo que nunca la había visto.

Espero en un próximo post contarle sobre el éxito al haber plantado estas exóticas y hermosas plantas y la extracción de tallos para su reproducción para llevar algunos ejemplares a mi casa.

I have some plants in my house, I don't have a garden, so I have them in pots. The truth is that they are very noble because I confess that I am not a devoted gardener. I am usually very busy and there are days when I don't even go out to the porch of my house where the plants are. So on those days I forget about them. It pains me to say it but it's the truth.

But my plants are faithful, they are always there waiting for me. Another little thing I want to confess is that most of my plants are bought by my husband although he doesn't even think of watering them hahaha. My mom comes from time to time and waters them, I water them intermittently or my son when I force him to do it because I am busy and I remember.

At one time I didn't have a single plant, because it was too much responsibility for me and I was hardly ever home, but my older brother gave me a plant, I didn't want to accept it. At that time my son had not yet been born, so it was as if I had adopted a child. Those were very tense days, I was afraid it would die, I watered it every day, but soon after the plant died, because according to me I was watering it too much.

Very sorry I told my brother what happened and he said don't worry, I'll give you another one 😱 so he did, but this time he explained how often I should water it. So she did survive 😅 but I felt it was something I couldn't do at that time.

So, I always understood that having plants is a responsibility. Now I have THREE of these plants or a few not too delicate plants adorning my porch. But on Saturday my husband came home with a surprising bouquet.

The bouquet contained a variety of beautiful plants. The truth is that the beauty of them impressed me. They were all absolutely peculiar, colorful and very beautiful. Of all of them, only one was totally green.

Unfortunately he did not have pots available, but the person who gave him these plants, actually sticks of them, told him to plant them that very day.

So my husband came up with the idea that we plant them at my mom's house who lives very close by and has land to plant them on. So that's what we did, we went there and planted all the plants. My mom set up a linear farm for them attached to the wall that divides her porch from her neighbor's porch.

After planting them we added a little more soil with compost and goat manure that my brother had brought him.

I am not an expert in this art, but I hope that is ok. So I will wait these next few days to evaluate the result. Then, my plans are to wait for them to get firm and then pull from there to plant some for myself after I buy the pots.

Three of these plants are Croto, or at least that's how I know them, also called Croton (Codiaeum variegatum scientific name) in some places, it is of the Euforbiaceae family. I wanted to name each of the variations that my husband brought, by their personal name, but my internet has been easy and it made my research very difficult. But I think I found the name of the varieties of Crotons of this bouquet, the cuyales indicated in the description of each photo. However the other species I could not identify, but I still loved them.

Some of the names I could find, is Croton Mamey or Croton Mammy. It is too beautiful because it has long red, green and yellow leaves. I think it is quite a sight and I don't think I have ever seen it before.

I hope in a future post to tell you about the success in having planted these exotic and beautiful plants and the extraction of stems for reproduction to bring some specimens to my home.
