Thai Beef Salad .

Ingredients:

  • Beef flank steak (500 grams)
  • Salad mix ( 1 large package)
  • Cucumber(1)
  • Mint ( 1 sprig)
  • Cacahuete (100grams)
  • Thai rice (150grams)
  • Sugar (2 teaspoons)
  • Green Tabasco (15 to 20 drops)
  • Garlic (2 cloves)
  • Ponzu sauce (3 tablespoons) can be replaced by a mixture of soy sauce + lemon
  • Chives (about ten sprigs)
  • Limes (2)
  • Olive oil (6 tablespoons)
  • NuocNam sauce (3 tablespoons)
  • Green apple (1/2)

Preparation :

  • Crush the 2 cloves of garlic, add 3 tablespoons of Ponzu soy sauce, 6 tablespoons of olive oil and mix then add the beef, salt and pepper to taste.

  • Mix again the meat well in this marinade then cover with aluminium foil and keep in a cool place for half an hour.

  • Meanwhile, mix the Thai rice and peanuts and roast them in a hot pan without oil until the rice is golden.

  • Squeeze a lime into a bowl, add 2 teaspoons of sugar and add 3/4 of the peanut/roasted rice mixture that you have crushed in a pestle.

  • Collect your meat and sear it quickly in a very hot pan so that it is well cooked on the outside but still rare on the inside. Keep the cooking juice and mix it with the lemon/peanut/rice sauce.

  • Cut your meat into thin strips

  • Dice the cucumber and half a green apple, add the mint, chives and cherry tomatoes cut in half, place this mixture on a bed of mixed salad and place the beef strips on top.

  • Now add the rest of the peanut/roasted rice mixture and drizzle with the lime sauce. You can also decorate with lime wedges and toasted sesame seeds.

  • Ok now all that's left to do is to enjoy it!
