[ESP] Entre el verdor y la frescura

El Parque Los Caobos de Caracas, está construido en los terrenos de la antigua hacienda «La Industrial», propiedad de Don José Antonio Mosquera, quien la vendió al gobierno nacional presidido por el entonces presidente General Juan Vicente Gómez. El parque se inauguró el 9 de diciembre de 1924 en honor al centenario de la Batalla de Ayacucho ocurrida en esa fecha pero cuen años antes, por esa razón, el Parque recibió el nombre de Parque Sucre, en honor al héroe de la batalla, el cumanés Mariscal Antonio José de Sucre. Fue en el año 1937 que el Concejo Municipal de Caracas le cambia el nombre a Los Caobos, por la gran cantidad de árboles de esta especie.
En el Parque Los Caobos existen aproximadamente 18 esculturas de diferentes autores y una gran fuente de agua pero ayer, por culpa del clima lluvioso, mi hijo y yo, sólo pudimos fotografiar algunas de esas obras: La otra mejilla del artista venezolano James Mathisson, Trompetilla para sordos del artista Marcos Salazar, el Avión o vuelo cruzado del artista venezolano Julio Pacheco R, el Elefante Dorado, donado a Caracas por la empresa italiana Trend, Ícaro o el Ángel Caído del artista venezolano Felipe Herrera y el Piano, anexo las fotografías.
Por cierto, el Elefante dorado, es una réplica de un elefante africano de tamaño natural y tiene, según el Diputado y exalcalde de Caracas, Jorge Rodríguez, el siguiente significado:
"perseverancia, paz, longevidad, persistencia, fecundidad y prosperidad".

The Los Caobos Park in Caracas is built on the land of the old hacienda "La Industrial", owned by Don José Antonio Mosquera, who sold it to the national government chaired by the then president General Juan Vicente Gómez. In Los Caobos Park there are approximately 18 sculptures by different authors and a large water fountain but yesterday, due to the rainy weather, my son and I were only able to photograph some of those works: The Other Cheek by Venezuelan artist James Mathisson, Trompetilla for the deaf by the artist Marcos Salazar, the Plane or crossed flight by the Venezuelan artist Julio Pacheco R, the Golden Elephant, donated to Caracas by the Italian company Trend, Ícaro or the Fallen Angel by the Venezuelan artist Felipe Herrera and the Piano, I attach the photographs.
By the way, the Golden Elephant is a replica of a life-size African elephant and has, according to the Deputy and former mayor of Caracas, Jorge Rodríguez, the following meaning:
"perseverance, peace, longevity, persistence, fertility and prosperity."
