El pasado 1 de mayo, Día Internacional del Trabajador, mi amada nieta y su mamita, mi hija Inés, estuvieron de visita en un hermoso lugar rodeado de vida, naturaleza y misterio, ellas tuvieron la gentileza de enviarme las fotografías y parte de la historia de aquel bucólico lugar, La Laguna Verde, lago situado en el municipio de Ubalá, en la zona A (occidental), en el departamento de Cundinamarca, perteneciente a la vereda de San Isidro, en la hermana República de Colombia.
Ante la belleza de la Laguna Verde, admiración; ante la carga de misterio, fascinación y respeto, eso es lo que siente el visitante en aquel maravilloso lugar.
Una de las tantas leyendas que se han hilvanado en torno a la enigmática Laguna Verde, dice que ese sitio era uno de los lugares sagrados de sus antiguos pobladores, Los Chíos, quienes hacían parte de la Confederación Muisca (antiguos pobladores de la región del Guavio). La Confederación fue una organización político-administrativa que agrupó a los aborígenes muiscas en el territorio central de la actual República de Colombia antes de la Conquista española).
El testimonio arqueológico, oral y escrito asegura que Los Chíos celebraban en la Laguna sus ritos ancestrales y como ofrenda, veneración y respeto arrojaban oro y piedras preciosas a sus aguas; además, para esconder sus tesoros del europeo invasor, también lo lanzaban al agua.
Todo el que se acerca a la Laguna Verde con malas intenciones recibe un castigo inesperado de parte de la naturaleza. La leyenda más difundida aparece escrita en una valla informativa que está en el lugar:
"Un día en busca de tales riquezas, codiciosos de oro, intentaron secar la Laguna, cuando estaban a punto de lograr su acometido se desató una gran tempestad que renovó las aguas de tan bella Laguna frustrando las malas intenciones de aquellos hombres."
Lo cierto es que la inmensa y hermosa selva colombiana guarda muchas riquezas, misterios y secretos ancestrales que llenan de encanto y fascinación a propios y extraños. La Laguna Verde, forma parte de ese gigantesco patrimonio natural que Colombia le exhibe, con mucho orgullo, al mundo. Muy pronto mi amada nieta, Melanie Solange Milano García, publicará en su canal de Youtube, Conociendo y Aprendiendo con Melanie su visita a la hermosa y misteriosa Laguna Verde.

Last May 1st, World Worker's Day, my beloved granddaughter and her mother, my daughter Inés, were visiting a beautiful place surrounded by life, nature and mystery. They were kind enough to send me the photographs and part of the story. from that bucolic place, La Laguna Verde, a lake located in the Municipality of Ubalá, in zone A (western), in the department of Cundinamarca, belonging to the village of San Isidro, in the sister Republic of Colombia.
Before the beauty of the Green Lagoon, admiration and before the load of mystery, fascination and respect, that is what the visitor feels in that wonderful place.
One of the many legends that have spun around the enigmatic Laguna Verde says that this site was one of the sacred places of its ancient inhabitants, Los Chíos, who were part of the Muisca Confederation (ancient inhabitants of the Guavio region). The Confederation was a political-administrative organization that grouped the Muisca aborigines in the central territory of the current Republic of Colombia before the Spanish Conquest).
The archaeological, oral and written testimony ensures that Los Chíos celebrated their ancestral rites in the Lagoon and as an offering, veneration and respect they threw gold and precious stones into its waters; In addition, to hide their treasures from the invading European, they also threw it into the water.
Anyone who approaches the Laguna Verde with bad intentions receives an unexpected punishment from nature. The most widespread legend appears written on an information billboard that is in the place:
"One day in search of such riches, greedy for gold, they tried to dry the Lagoon, when they were about to achieve their attack, a great storm broke out that renewed the waters of such a beautiful Lagoon, frustrating the bad intentions of those men."
The truth is that the immense and beautiful Colombian jungle keeps a lot of wealth, mystery and ancestral secrets that fill locals and strangers with charm and fascination. The Green Lagoon is part of that gigantic natural heritage that Colombia proudly exhibits to the world. Very soon my beloved granddaughter, Melanie Solange Milano García, will publish on her YouTube channel, Knowing and Learning with Melanie her visit to the beautiful and mysterious Laguna Verde.
