Primero indicaré que se trata de un film dirigido por Jane Campion. Muchos recordarán a esta neozelandesa por el film “El Piano” realizado en 1993 ya que con él, además, de ganar la Palma de Oro en Cannes fue nominada como mejor directora en los premios Oscar y fue, por decirlo de alguna manera, la internacionalización de esta directora.

No era la primera vez que Campion ganaba la Palma de Oro. Su cortometraje Peel lo había logrado, también, en el año 1986.

Recientemente, El poder del perro la hizo acreedora del premio Globo de Oro a la Mejor Dirección, Mejor Película de Drama, y reconoció a Kodi Smit-McPhee como Mejor Actor de Reparto.

El cortometraje “El Diario del Agua” es una reflexión oportuna acerca del problema del cambio climático y la escasez del agua en el mundo.

Está narrado en forma de diario a través de una voz femenina. Ella, Ziggy, relata una historia demasiado triste casi difícil de creer. Las imágenes que acompañan la narración son de realismo mágico.

La belleza y dolor se complementan mostrándonos la realidad.

La música va a tener un papel especial no solo en el desenvolvimiento del filme sino que será la desencadenante para atraer a la preciada lluvia que no cae.

Es la primera vez que me amarga tanto pensar en la frase “tomarme mis lágrimas”. En este film, no es algo que se queda en lo literal sino que lo vemos. Un nudo en la garganta me hace pensar en si todo eso puede ser real.

La visión humana de Jane Campion se deja ver claramente con sus imágenes cotidianas con ángulos horizontales.

La visión artística se deja ver en la forma en une esas imágenes.

Cuando veo trabajos audiovisuales como este no me cabe la menor duda de que con un buen guion se puede lograr maravillas aún con pocos elementos técnicos.

Es relevante destacar el parlamento. Está muy bien concebido para estremecernos hasta los huesos. Ciencia, arte y sentimientos se funden en la danza por el agua.

El filme es absolutamente comprometido con la permanencia de la humanidad.

Jane Campion me ha hecho reflexionar acerca del mundo que no quiero que exista pero que es posible que nos alcance debido a nuestra propia negligencia.

The short film "The Water Diary" is a timely reflection on the problem of climate change and water scarcity in the world.

It's narrated in diary form through a female voice. She, Ziggy, tells a story that is all too sad, almost hard to believe. The images that accompany the narrative are magical realism.

Beauty and pain complement each other by showing us reality.

The music will play a special role not only in the unfolding of the film but will be the trigger to attract the precious rain that does not fall.

It's the first time I've ever been so bitter to think of the phrase "take my tears". In this film, it is not something that remains literal but we see it. A lump in my throat makes me wonder if it can all be real.

Jane Campion's human vision is clearly seen in her everyday images with horizontal angles.

The artistic vision is seen in the way she brings these images together.

When I see audiovisual works like this I have no doubt that with a good script one can achieve wonders even with few technical elements.

It's important to highlight the dialogue. It is very well conceived to shake us to the bone. Science, art and feelings merge in the dance on the water.

The film is absolutely committed to the permanence of humanity.

Jane Campion has made me reflect on the world that I don't want to exist but that is likely to catch up with us because of our own negligence.
