Exposición "Eggcident" del artista Henk Hofstra | Praça Generoso Márquez - Curitiba 📍🇧🇷
Curitiba es sin duda una ciudad muy llena de cultura y turismo, pues, siempre están al día con actividades tanto culturales como recreativas y estas son simplemente únicas e increíbles.
Curitiba is undoubtedly a city brimming with culture and tourism, always offering unique and incredible cultural and recreational activities.
En este caso, asistí a una exposición muy interesante que se llevó a cabo en el centro de la ciudad, específicamente en la plaza Generoso Márquez como parte de la Virada Sustentável realizada el pasado 2024. Este último se refiere a un festival de sustentabilidad promovido por el ministerio de cultura en el que se presentan diversas exposiciones, shows, y eventos promoviendo la sustentabilidad de una manera diferente y creativa.
On this occasion, I attended a very interesting exhibition held in the city center, specifically in Generoso Márquez Square, as part of the Virada Sustentável festival in 2024. This festival, promoted by the Ministry of Culture, features diverse exhibitions, shows, and events that promote sustainability in a different and creative way.
Esta exposición, llamada Eggcident pertenece al artista Henk Hofstra, el cual es de origen Holandés y es mayormente reconocido por realizar sus obras de gran formato en espacios públicos, en este caso usando como escenario la Plaza Generoso Márquez, llenando todo este espacio de Huevos Fritos gigantes en relación a su obra.
This exhibition, called Eggcident, belongs to the artist Henk Hofstra, who is of Dutch origin and is mostly recognized for creating his large-format works in public spaces, in this case using the Plaza Generoso Márquez as a stage, filling the entire space with giant fried eggs related to his work.
Con esta exposición el artista nos presenta lo siguiente: "Una de las cosas más esenciales de la vida es su inicio. La mayor parte de la vida comienza con un huevo. Sin embargo, si continuamos faltándole el respeto al medio ambiente e ignorando los signos de degradación, el mundo podría terminar como un huevo grande y roto, a punto de freírse." Lo cual se puede leer en la descripción de la obra colocada en un punto de la plaza para que todos pudieran conocer un poco sobre esta.
With this exhibition, the artist presents the following: "One of the most essential things in life is its beginning. Most of life begins with an egg. However, if we continue to disrespect the environment and ignore the signs of degradation, the world could end up like a large, cracked egg, about to fry." This can be read in the description of the work, placed in a spot in the plaza so that everyone could learn a little about it.
Eran alrededor de unos 6 huevos fritos distribuidos en toda la plaza, pero solo estarían allí por unos cuantos días, y como yo no me lo quería perder fui uno de esos días junto a Dani y mi amiga Mau. Dimos un paseo por la plaza, vimos todos los huevos y tomamos muchas fotos y gracias al buen clima de ese día estas quedaron muy lindas.
There were about six fried eggs scattered around the plaza, but they would only be there for a few days, and since I didn't want to miss it, I went one of those days with Dani and my friend Mau. We strolled around the plaza, saw all the eggs, and took lots of pictures, and thanks to the beautiful weather that day, they turned out really lovely.
Realmente me pareció una exposición bastante interesante y con un tema importante a considerar. No solo me gustó la obra sino también la experiencia de haber visto de primera mano algo de este estilo que además solo aconteció en ese momento, pues, es algo que no se va a repetir más y yo fui una de las personas que pudieron admirarlo directamente en el lugar.
I found it to be a very interesting exhibition with an important theme to consider. I not only liked the artwork but also the experience of having seen something of this style firsthand, something that only happened at that moment, since it's something that won't be repeated, and I was one of the people who were able to admire it directly in the venue.
