Amazing Battles – Crippling bite-sized battle!

Welcome to another Amazing Battle analysis!

We analyze a Wild, Regular Foil at Gold League tournament match on this occasion.

Our opponent this round is the outstanding player and content creator @jacekw from the Summoner´s Tribe guild!

Rules:

Little League (Only 4 mana or fewer monsters can be used in this battle), Keep your distance (Monsters with melee attacks may not be used in this battle), and Tis but scratches (all monsters have the cripple ability).

52 mana cap. Available splinters Earth and Dragon.

This time around, we chose Quix the Devious.

It's ranged, and speed debuff is lovely in this matchup, as striking first and nerfing 50% of the available DPS options is excellent with this mix of rules.

Our team

Failed Summoner (Magic Reflect and Demoralize), Earth Elemental (Heal), Serpentine Mystic (Slow and Affliction), Queen Mycelia (Protect, Amplify and Triage), Fire Spitter (Flying) and closing with Dr. Blight (Poison, Camouflage, Scavenge, and Affliction).

With this mix of rules, we go for high-HP monsters.

As all monsters gain the Cripple ability, their HP will be reduced quickly.

This fact makes healing, triage, and similar abilities less attractive.

Still, it makes magic reflect and similar abilities more critical.

We can expect a lot of magical damage in this particular combination of rulesets. In our case, we take a mix of 2 ranged attackers and 3 magical damage monsters.

Let’s take a look at the opposing team.

Summoner: Quix the Devious (-1 ranged attack, -1 speed). So, we get a mirror summoner matchup here.

Quix is amazing in Little League and Keep Your Distance ruleset. Enough said here.

Opposing lineup:

Dragon Spirit (Immunity, Flying and Redemption), Spirit Shaman (Divine Shield, Stun and Redemption), Swamp Thing (Weaken and Slow), Dr. Blight (Poison, Camouflage, Scavenge, and Affliction), Queen Mycelia (Protect, Amplify and Triage)and closing with Grenadier (Blast, Snare, and Oppress).

What a different lineup! Even with the same summoner and color choice, this team differs significantly from ours.

Starting with the tank, Dragon Spirit is unique as it isn’t affected by the cripple ability.

However, it would have been even more amazing mixed with a tank heal monster. But as we can see, our opponent is going for a weakened/redemption strategy.

The first and second monsters have the redemption ability. But we must point out that one of the main differences between the teams is the HP.

Most of our opponent's cards are on the low side compared to ours. And similarly to our team, the opposing combination has 3 magic, and 2 ranged attackers.

Let’s see how this magical match plays out!

Click on the image below to watch the fight:

Round 1:

In this round, both tanks take heavy punishment.

Still, our magic reflects tanks manage to reflect 6 magical damage due to Amplify.

The armor from Queen Mycelia is vital here as our tank avoids a huge oppress hit due to the armor. No monsters die this round.

Round 2:

Our tank valiantly falls but not before reflecting some magical damage.

On the other hand, both redemption bombs from our opponent go off!

But thankfully, the armor from our fungi Queen soaks most of the damage. 2 vs. 1 is the score for this round.

Round 3:

Our Earth Elemental and the opposing Swamp Thing go down this round, leaving our Serpentine Mystic staring Down a huge Dr. Blight on the opposite side.

Round 4:

Our Serpentine Mystic falls, and the opposing Dr. Blight soaks some damage but stands firm in the front line due to the Scavenge ability.

3 vs. 3 even score on this round.

Round 5:

Our dear Queen fell, and now it’s the bad Dr. Blight is still holding on the front by a thread with 1 HP left on the opposing team.

Ouch, it’s a 3 vs. 4 score now.

Round 6:

As we eliminate the opposing Dr., things heat up, but our frontline Dragon is left with a measly 1 HP.

4 vs. 4 ties now!

Round 7:

Our last dragon falls, leaving only the evil Dr. on our team with 10 HP left against the two opposing monsters.

Round 8 to 10:

Our Doctor finishes off the opposing Queen Mycelia.

This is primarily a victory for our team because only the grenadier is left for the opposing team, and ranged attackers don’t deal any damage in the first position.

Our doctor takes two rounds to deal the finishing blows. Victory!

In this match, high HPz, Magic reflect, and the extra armor gave us a distinct advantage as our opponents weaken/redemption plans were frustrated by our high HP armored monsters.

Reflect was also crucial as one triage couldn’t keep up with the reflection on our tank.

Thanks for reading this analysis, and see you next time!
