Splinterlands Amazing Battles – Quora’s madness in the Colisseum!

Today we go back into the arena in a Gold Foil, 23 Mana Cap, Gold league Brawl battle.

The rules are Explosive Weaponry (all monsters have the blast ability) and Equal Opportunity (all monsters have the Opportunity ability).

Available splinters: Death and Earth.

We go against @cjturtleman from the guild Peakmonsters Premiere.

We choose Xander Foxwood as a summoner, which frees us some mana to use on monsters.

Our lineup:

Mycelic Slipspawn (Taunt and Forcefield), Fungus fiend, Goblin Dartling (Shatter), Swamp Thing (Slow and Weaken), Acid Shooter (Scattershot and Cripple), and closing with Spirit of the Forest (Flying, Snipe, Tank Heal and Protect).

With our Taunt, we plan to minimize the chances of our DPS being picked off by opportunistic attacks, allowing them to do good damage with the blast ability. We have a total of 10 damage to spread around.

Let’s take a look at our opponent’s cards!

Summoner: Obsidian (+1 magic damage)

Monsters:

Chaos Agent (Dodge and Phase), Failed Summoner (Magic reflect and Demoralize), Pelacor Mercenary (Flying and Heal), and closing with Quora Towershead (Heal and Bloodlust).

Hey, it’s easy to say that our opponent plans to put meat shields in front to soak some damage to give Quora time to grow out of control with Bloodlust and her dual melee and magic attacks dealing a total of 8 damage each turn that due to the rules (more if she hits monsters in the middle positions). And she was sustaining herself with healing.

Round 1:

We pick off both non-damage tanks on the enemy team, but quora manage to proc Bloodlust once due to blast killing our fiend on the second position! Uh, oh…

Round 2:

The Pelacor Mercenary falls due to the combined damage, and we manage to get a cripple shot on Quora. None of our monsters die this round, and we whittle down Quora’s HP to 6.

Round 3:

We managed to get the Gladiator down to 3 HP. Still, due to Bloodlust, her initiative grew to 3, and she heals and attacks before the rest of our team finishes her off. She kills our Taunt AND the dartling, getting two procs off Bloodlust!

Round 4:

Quora finishes our Swamp Thing with her six magic plus five melee damage and procs Bloodlust again. Not looking good for our team.

Round 5:

The Gladiator is already out of control; in this round, she cleans off the rest of our team, finishing with nine crazy magic damage, eight melee damage, etc.!

We lost this match, but we learned a valuable lesson on the real power of gladiator cards in Brawl matches.

Wooow, you got Quora, that card is very strong. I've been beaten several times just because of that card which is epic but really has legendary abilities!
