Hola queridos amigos, últimamente no he podido compartir con ustedes ninguna publicación, puesto que mi padre el 15 de Diciembre me llamo en horas de la madrugada para que buscara un neumonólogo en la clínica que pudiera evaluar a mi madre que tenía mucha tos y vómitos.

Hello dear friends, lately I have not been able to share with you any publication, since my father on December 15th called me at dawn to find a pulmonologist at the clinic who could evaluate my mother, who had a lot of coughing and vomiting.

Mi esposo me llevo a las 4:00am a la clínica Bello Monte de Carúpano y allí me dieron el número de un doctor, lo llamé planteándole la situación de mi madre y me dijo que la trajera de 8:30- 9:00 a la Policlínica de Carúpano, que él estaría allí para evaluarla. Mis padres llegaron a las 8:30 y el doctor aún no llegaba, mi madre estaba muy mal y agotada pues pasaron toda la noche sin dormir. Mi padre llamó al doctor y le dijo que en 20min estaría allí, pero no fue así.

My husband took  me at 4:00 a.m. to the Bello Monte de Carúpano clinic and there  they gave me the number of a doctor, I called him asking him about  my mother's  situation and he told me to bring her from 8:30 to 9:00  a. m. Carúpano Polyclinic, that he would be there to evaluate her. My parents arrived at 8:30 and the doctor had not yet arrived, my mother was very ill and exhausted because she spent the whole night without sleeping. My father called the doctor and told him that in 20 minutes he would be there, but he was not.

Al ver la desesperación de mi madre, buscamos otro doctor. Afortunadamente, otro especialista en el mismo edificio de la clínica pudo rápidamente examinarla y darnos un diagnóstico. Mandó a practicar Rayos X de tórax y algunos exámenes para saber si tenía covid-19. El año pasado, por esta misma fecha, ella contrajo esta enfermedad y la situación nos tenía bastante preocupados. El doctor trató de medir su saturación de oxígeno pero ella estaba tan deshidratada que no pudo.

Seeing my mother's despair,  we looked for another doctor. Fortunately, another specialist in the same clinic building was able to quickly examine her and give us a diagnosis. She sent for chest X-rays and some tests to find out if she had covid-19. Last year, around this same date, mom contracted this disease and the situation had us quite worried. The doctor tried to measure her oxygen saturation but she was so dehydrated that she couldn't.

Salimos de allí a realizar la placa y los exámenes, pero estaba tan descompensada que tuvimos que llevarla al ambulatorio del centro de Carúpano Otaola para que le colocaran suero. Al llegar allí, encontramos una doctora muy joven y amable, pero no había un macrogotero para colocarle el suero ni mucho menos jeringa e inyección para los vómitos. Mi esposo y yo fuimos rápidamente a comprar el medicamento, pero habían mudado la farmacia. Caminamos 4 cuadras y fuimos lo más rápido que pudimos a llevar el tratamiento para que se lo colocaran y regresar nuevamente con el doctor para que evaluara los exámenes.

We left there to have the X rays and the lab tests done, but she was so unbalanced that we had to take her to the outpatient clinic of the Carúpano Otaola center to have an IV. When we got there, we found a very young and kind doctor, but there was no macro dripper to give her serum, much less a syringe and injection for vomiting. My husband and I quickly went to buy the medicine, but the pharmacy had been moved. We  walked 4 blocks and we were as fast as we could to bring the treatment to be placed and return again to the doctor to evaluate the exams.

El doctor ordenó hospitalización y tratamiento para un supuesto Covid, y dijo que el pulmón izquierdo se veía un poco neumolítico. Mi padre y yo estábamos en desacuerdo con internarla en el hospital de Carúpano pues las condiciones en ese lugar son inhumanas. Decidimos hospitalizarla en casa y aplicar allí el tratamiento. La llevé al módulo de Charallave para conversar con la enfermera de turno a ver si estaba dispuesta a ir a la casa a aplicarle los tratamientos. Lamentablemente, se negó por el horario y me dijo que me explicaría para que yo le colocara los tratamientos en la casa.

The doctor ordered hospitalization and treatment for a suspected Covid, and said the left lung looked a bit pneumolytic. My father and I disagreed with admitting her to the Carúpano hospital because the conditions there are inhumane. We decided to hospitalize her at home and apply the treatment there. I took her to the Charallave module to talk with the nurse on duty to see if she was willing to go home to apply the treatments. She unfortunately, she refused because of the schedule and she told me that she would explain to me so that I could place the treatments at  home.

Desde ese momento empecé yo a aplicar los tratamientos en casa y busqué la ayuda de una vecina que estudia medicina y nos ayudó bastante gracias a Dios.

From that moment I began to apply the treatments at home and I sought the help of a neighbor who is studying medicine and she helped us a lot, thank God.

Fueron días de mucha angustia y trasnochos. Mi mamita no mejoraba con el tratamiento y como tiene problemas de reflujo y tiroides, tuvimos que llevarla con la gastro a ver si lograba eliminar los vómitos. Entre la consulta y el eco fuero 50 dólares más, sin meter los medicamentos. Ella le cambio el tratamiento y ese día le hicimos la prueba del Covid-19 fueron 30 dólares la prueba rápida. Estábamos contentos porque dio negativo. Repetimos las placas y ya se veían mejor, pero aún así la doctora dijo que tenía Covid y que debía continuar con el tratamiento.

They were days of great anguish and late nights. My mommy did not improve with the treatment and since she has reflux and thyroid problems, we had to take her with the gastro to see if she could stop the vomiting. Between the consultation and the echo was 50 dollars more, without including the medications. She changed her treatment and that day we did the Covid-19 test for $30 for the rapid test. We were happy because she tested negative. We repeated the plates and they already looked better, but still the doctor said that she had Covid and that she should continue with the treatment.

Entre hermanos y tíos aportamos dinero para poder realizar los exámenes, comprar los medicamentos y alimentos para su recuperación. El 24 de Diciembre ella se sentía un poquito mejor y para animarnos de tantos días de angustia preparamos las hallacas y la cena navideña les muestro algunas fotografías.

Between brothers and uncles we contribute money to cover the exams, buy medicines, and food for mom's recovery. On December 24, she felt a little better and to encourage ourselves from so many days of anguish, we prepared the hallacas and for Christmas dinner. I show you some photographs

Mi mamá no pudo comer las hallacas, solo galletas de soda y ensalada y poco de pollo horneado.

She was unable to eat the hallacas; only some crackers, salad, and chicken.

Pasamos una linda noche, gracias a Dios.

We had a nice evening, thank God 

Mi padre hace 4 días se la llevó a la casa porque nosotros tenemos 18 días sin agua en la casa y los tanques de reserva se agotaron. En casa una tía y vecinos están ayudando a mi mamá en su recuperación. Gracias a Dios se encuentra un poquito mejor.

My father took her home 4 days ago because we have 18 days without water in the house and the reserve tanks are exhausted. At home an aunt and neighbors are helping my mother in her recovery. Thank God she's feeling a little better.
