Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Remember that it is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

"Don't worry" they tell me all the time, and I suppose they do it because they want to make me feel good, but also because they don't know the dimensions of the problems I face every day. It is not easy to live without being able to walk, being tied to a wheelchair without being able to move, without being able to go up or down stairs, repressing that sensation of falling into the water using your legs. I lost my legs in the war. An enemy mortar fell 3 meters from me while I was fighting an enemy who was trying to stab me with the point of his bayonet. The enemy stopped most of the fragments that the wave sent towards us, and the ones that passed destroyed my knees and 90% of my legs. I did not feel pain, I was in shock for several weeks, unable to understand what had happened to me.

And I only remember the words of the people, telling me "don't worry all will be ok, you are alive".

I'm still alive, chained to this wheelchair, if you can call it "life."

This story is fiction, created by putting myself in the place of a war veteran, for my participation in the 5 minute daily freewrite.

Hello...

I found you after someone entered my orbit today. I like them! And they're from around here. So I came found this and remembered that and wrote this. For that AND this. Sounds complicated, huh? :D

But time and good people.

Long #freewrite short. Here's what transpired and was transcribed. Like the free writing thing a LOT. I'm going to do this more often if possible.
