Hola compañeras de @ladiesofhive. Tengo la oportunidad de participar en este Concurso #53 que trae como desafío a dos interesantes preguntas. La primera, acerca de la preferencia de quedarse sin agua o electricidad durante una semana. La segunda, trata sobre qué personaje de ficción gustaría conocer y por qué.
Pues bien, responderé a la primera pregunta. Para ello, en primer lugar, analizaré brevemente las situaciones de permanecer sin agua y sin electricidad.
El agua es imprescindible, es vital. Desde que me levanto, hasta que finaliza el día está presente el agua. Para calmar la sed, para la higiene personal, para mantener la limpieza en el hogar, para la preparación de los alimentos, para regar las plantas... para casi todo es necesaria el agua. Es primordial para la vida. El agua es vida.
Por el contrario, es posible enfrentar la vida sin energía eléctrica. Preferiría pasar una semana sin electricidad. Claro, no es fácil. Sobretodo, si pensamos en situaciones en las cuales la electricidad es primordial.
En la vida cotidiana y común podría estar una semana sin electricidad. Aunque esto implica tener que enfrentar consecuencias con los alimentos que suelen guardarse en la nevera, por ejemplo. Como consecuencia, se ocasionarían más gastos al perder parte de las reservas de verduras y proteínas que se suelen resguardar para el consumo semanal y, me vería en la obligación de comprar la ración del momento lo cual, como es bien sabido, suele resultar más costoso a nivel económico.
Por otro lado, también estoy consciente de que una semana sin electricidad me dejaría incomunicada, sin opción de saber cómo está mi familia y sin saber qué pasa en el país y en el mundo. Aunque esto último podría tener sus beneficios. Desconectarse del mundo no es del todo malo.
Sin embargo, viéndolo desde el punto de vista colectivo y social, estar sin electricidad una semana, al igual que estar sin agua, podría tener consecuencias fatales. Y, es que hay establecimientos, tales como los hospitales, clínicas y otros centros de salud, cuyo funcionamiento depende en gran medida de la electricidad. Como consecuencia, miles de vidas estarían en riesgo. A menos que la opción de depender de las plantas generadoras de energía sea válida.
Una vez analizadas las situaciones, y viéndolas desde el punto de vista individual, prefiero estar una semana sin electricidad que estar una semana sin agua.
¡Ah! Casi lo olvido. En Venezuela, en marzo del año 2019 enfrentamos un fuerte e inesperado apagón que afectó al Sistema Eléctrico Nacional, el cual dejó a oscuras al país durante una semana, precisamente. Aunado a ello, un alto porcentaje de los hogares venezolanos enfrentan a diario múltiples cortes eléctricos que, muchas veces, superan varias horas. Esto, sin duda, lo complica todo.

The first one, about the preference of going without water or electricity for a week. The second, about which fictional character would you like to meet and why.
Well, I will answer the first question. To do so, I will first briefly analyze the situations of remaining without water and without electricity.
Water is essential, it is vital. From the moment I wake up until the end of the day, water is present. To quench thirst, for personal hygiene, to maintain cleanliness in the home, to prepare food, to water plants... water is necessary for almost everything. It is essential for life. Water is life.
On the contrary, it is possible to face life without electricity. I would prefer to spend a week without electricity. Of course, it is not easy. Especially if we think about situations in which electricity is essential.
In everyday, ordinary life, I could go a week without electricity. Although this implies having to face consequences with the food that is usually stored in the refrigerator, for example. As a consequence, more expenses would be incurred by losing part of the reserves of vegetables and proteins that are usually stored for weekly consumption and, I would be forced to buy the ration of the moment which, as is well known, is usually more expensive economically.
On the other hand, I am also aware that a week without electricity would leave me incommunicado, without the option of knowing how my family is doing and without knowing what is happening in the country and in the world. Although the latter could have its benefits. Disconnecting from the world is not all bad.
However, looking at it from a collective and social point of view, being without electricity for a week, just like being without water, could have fatal consequences. And, there are establishments, such as hospitals, clinics and other health centers, whose operation depends to a large extent on electricity. As a consequence, thousands of lives would be at risk. Unless the option of relying on power plants is valid.
Having analyzed the situations, and looking at them from an individual point of view, I would rather go a week without electricity than go a week without water.
Ah, I almost forgot. In Venezuela, in March 2019 we faced a strong and unexpected blackout that affected the National Electric System, which left the country in the dark for precisely one week. In addition, a high percentage of Venezuelan households face daily multiple power outages that, many times, exceed several hours. This, undoubtedly, complicates everything.

Life is certainly made more difficult without electricity. But water is essential for health and for vital body function so I and just about everyone else would agree.
