Reseña: El juego del calamar 🦑 | Review: the squid game🦑 [ESP/ING]

Watching series and movies is something I enjoy a lot, so when something becomes a trend I look for ways to watch it and give my opinion about it, such was the case of this Korean series called "The Squid Game".
Para ser sincera nunca había visto una serie surcoreana, había visto colombianas, mexicanas, españolas y algunos otros países pero corea del sur no figuraba en ellos, sin embargo decidí darme la oportunidad con esta serie que desde que ví un pequeño trailer mientras navegaba en facebook y quedé enganchada, inmediatamente conseguí un wifi cercano a mi casa para descargar todos sus capítulos, una de las cosas que me gusta mucho es que es una serie que no es demasiado larga aunque creo que ya anunciaron su segunda temporada que como podrán imaginar ya estoy esperando con ansias.
To be honest I had never seen a South Korean series, I had seen Colombian, Mexican, Spanish and some other countries but South Korea did not figure in them, however I decided to give me the opportunity with this series that since I saw a small trailer while browsing facebook and I was hooked, I immediately got a wifi near my house to download all its chapters, one of the things I really like is that it is a series that is not too long although I think they already announced its second season that as you can imagine I'm already looking forward to.
Para mí fue una de esas series que cuando se estreno no hizo demasiado ruido y de repente se convirtió en un súper éxito por algunos suertudos que comenzaron a recomendarla obteniendo cada vez más fama. Esta serie cuenta con 9 capitulos cargados de emoción, traiciones y violencia aunque en general la historia transcurre rápido tiene sus escenas lentas que en lo personal puedes adelantar un poco sin perderle sentido a la historia. Haciendo un pequeño resumen de El juego del calamar, que no tiene demasiado misterio pero su trama te hace mantenerte allí. La historia sigue a Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), un personaje que malvive con su madre y que tiene tantas deudas que es incapaz de afrontarlas, y cada día crecen más además de que suele tomar malas decisiones que afectan su relación con su hija.
For me it was one of those series that when it premiered did not make too much noise and suddenly became a super hit by some lucky people who began to recommend it, getting more and more fame. This series has 9 chapters full of emotion, betrayals and violence although in general the story goes fast, it has its slow scenes that personally you can advance a little without losing sense to the story. Making a small summary of The Squid Game, which doesn't have too much mystery but its plot makes you stay there. The story follows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), a character who is struggling to survive with his mother and has so many debts that he is unable to cope with them, and every day they grow bigger and bigger plus he often makes bad decisions that affect his relationship with his daughter.
Su suerte parece cambiar cuando le invitan a ganar dinero jugando contra un hombre, quien después le ofrece unirse a una partida mucho mayor. Seong Gi-hun y cientos de contendientes terminarán en un complejo aislado del mundo donde tendrán que competir, solos o en equipo, en seis juegos infantiles, como el tira y afloja, un juego parecido a el encantado (que allí lo llaman luz roja, luz verde), las canicas, etc. El ganador de los 456 concursantes se llevará miles de millones de wones (la moneda coreana) como premio. ¿Los perdedores? La muerte. Seong Gi-hun se apuesta la vida, pero si gana podría tenerla solucionada para siempre aunque eso podría costarle mucho.
His luck seems to change when he is invited to win money playing against a man, who then offers him to join a much bigger game. Seong Gi-hun and hundreds of contestants will end up in a complex isolated from the world where they will have to compete, alone or in teams, in six children's games, such as tug-of-war, a game similar to enchanted (there they call it red light, green light), marbles, etc. The winner of the 456 contestants will win billions of won (the Korean currency) as a prize. The losers? Death. Seong Gi-hun is betting his life, but if he wins he could have it solved forever although that could cost him a lot.
Debatiendo con algunos amigos, me comentaron que está serie les recuerda una serie japonesa reciente titulada "Alice in borderland" sobretodo por el sadismo al que se enfrentan aquellos que son eliminados pero yo no podría asegurar esto porque nunca he visto "Alice in borderland" jajajaja lo que si puedo decir es que tiene elementos de películas como La isla (la cinta de Michael Bay) y Los Juegos del Hambre, mezclandolo con un poco de thriller policiaco que acompaña todo ese dramatismo que caracteriza a las series coreanas.
Debating with some friends, they told me that this series reminds them of a recent Japanese series titled "Alice in borderland" especially for the sadism faced by those who are eliminated but I could not say for sure because I have never seen "Alice in borderland" hahahaha what I can say is that it has elements of movies like The Island (Michael Bay's film) and The Hunger Games, mixed with a bit of crime thriller that accompanies all that drama that characterizes the Korean series.
La sencillez de la premisa de El juego del calamar podría parecer algo bastante sencillo, aunque obviamente poco a poco se va destapando una serie de sucesos mucho mayor del que no hablare para no caer en spoilers. Es una serie muy interesante, especialmente para quienes os guste este rollito de supervivencia en un juego battle royale donde tus propios compañeros pueden jugártela en todo momento. No es algo tipo Among Us, pero hace que las convivencias sean vistas de una manera muy diferente.
The simplicity of the premise of The Squid Game might seem rather simple, although obviously little by little it uncovers a much larger series of events that I won't talk about to avoid spoilers. It's a very interesting series, especially for those who like this kind of survival in a battle royale game where your own teammates can play against you at all times. It's not a Among Us type of thing, but it makes living together a lot different.
El uso de máscaras para ocultar la identidad de ciertos personajes es algo que se ha visto muchísimo en los últimos años pero para mí es algo que funciona tan bien como la primera vez
The use of masks to hide the identity of certain characters is something that has been seen an awful lot in recent years but for me it's something that works just as well as the first time.
A great series that I recommend 100% that besides being quite entertaining leaves us with great messages!

Hola, me faltan solo dos episodios para completar esta serie. Me ha gustado su historia y la violencia es entretenida en combinación de juegos "inocentes". Espero terminarla hoy para escribir mi opinión.
