Hello @beauty197 it is a pleasure for us to have you active in our initiatives. Your participation always generates contribution, we thank you for your commitment.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease of chronic evolution, which can be free of complications, when it is controlled and for this, 99% is the responsibility of the person who suffers from it.

With Jane's story, you describe the measures to be taken to avoid the complications associated with this disease.

As you express it, strengthened by your experience as health personnel, it is vital to adjust the diet, exercise and periodic check-ups with specialized personnel. Also, the solidarity that should exist to help friends who present this disease and the commitment that should arise in the family.

It would be beneficial that upon the debut (appearance) of a case of DM in a family group, the alarms are triggered and all the members of that family group perform a self-assessment of the presence of risk factors such as sedentary lifestyle, inadequate diet (high in carbohydrates, high in saturated fats, deficient in fiber and low in vegetables), smoking, obesity, alcohol, etc.

Perhaps many of our readers, again mention diet, exercise, etc., again. It is mentioned because it is the reality, if we were careful with our styles towards healthy practices, we would extend our life in satisfactory conditions and we would act against innumerable pathologies.

Thank you for your contribution
Happy week.
