ENGLISH VERSION
As human beings, we were created with the ability to adapt to any environment, situation or culture, and get the most benefit from that adaptation, I have not had to emigrate from my country, but the one who changes territory necessarily changes mentality to adapt properly, otherwise it is returned or perish.
The adaptation process begins when the decision is made to adapt to the new. This implies a total metamorphosis, which leads to a change of mind, which leads to a change of attitude, which leads to a change of will, which leads to a change of life, which surprises you by watching you doing what you were not able to do in your country of origin, even with greater opportunities than others, because comfort often makes us lazy.
The diaspora that was generated in Venezuela, I put it as the greatest example to show what we are capable of. Many left for fear of starvation, with high expectations, even at the risk of their own lives, they left walking and asking for transportation support or "queue to queue" as we say here in my country, others with a little more opportunity to leave sold what they had of value and left, some returned, others stayed and continue to struggle trying to integrate, others did not leave.
Whatever the case, there was a common denominator, fight life and thus we learned that we are the ones who set limits for ourselves, that we have what it takes to challenge and overcome adversity, that we are coated with a powerful creative force to produce goods from what for others is garbage. Those of us who remain have enough material to teach others how we manage to continue living in a terrible season of scarcity of work, money and food.
We value more what we have, Life, our country, even though our economy is still terribly unstable and uncertain.
It was necessary to leave the offices, the air conditioning, the casual and executive dress, to face our cruel and new reality, from professionals, artisans and producers, we went in a moment to dress almost like homeless, many were collecting in the garbage, cardboard and plastic to sell and take some food to their children. There was no time to be ashamed, the only important thing was to live and preserve the family, we were often belittled by our own compatriots to see us downgraded, there was no reason, since we all suffered the same, but there are people like that, sadly those are condemned to not learn anything.
The greatest motivation, responsible love for our most vulnerable loved ones, believing that in the midst of chaos we could make it through this darkness and we certainly did.
We paid the price, and we continue to pay it, but with a little more hope, we had to show for a long time the dirt on our faces to move forward, that dirt that we now respect in those who still live it, because we also get dirty, we continue to see dirty faces in every corner of the world; that screams to us it is worth it for a noble and just cause, having to keep for a while the dirt on our faces no matter what they will say because the heavens scream, you made the effort, you worked, and you made it.
