I started making the sketch of the character, for that I used guide lines to define the orientation of the character and having as main idea to make a kind of wolf that followed the design of my reference in a simple way, from there I was working on building my initial sketch, adding and defining a little more the elements. Then I lowered the opacity of the layer and started working on the final lineart that the character would have.

Comencé realizando el boceto del personaje, para ello utilice líneas guía para definir la orientación del personaje y teniendo como idea principal realizar una especie de lobo que siguiera el diseño de mi referencia de una manera sencilla, a partir de allí fui trabajando en armar mi boceto inicial, agregando y definiendo un poco mas los elementos. Luego baje la opacidad de la capa y comencé a trabajar en el lineart final que tendría el personaje.

Once I finished with the lines, I placed the base colours on the character, using a range of colours very similar to the one in my reference. Then with a soft brush I made a kind of soft shadows to place the direction of the light in the illustration.

Una vez termine con las líneas pase a colocar los colores base en el personaje, utilizando una gama de colores muy similares al de mi referencia. Luego con un pincel suave realice una especie de sombras suaves para ubicar la dirección de la luz en la ilustración.

Then in a new layer I started to work a bit more on the shadows to create some volume, I didn't want to give too much detail on them as my intention was to make a simple illustration. Then I placed the illuminations, giving more detail to the fire which is a direct light source, I also applied some "glitter" in the eyes of the character and in specific areas for a better finish.

Después en una nueva capa comencé a trabajar un poco mas las sombras para crear algo de volumen, no quise dar mucho detalle en ellas ya que mi intención era realizar una ilustración sencilla. Luego pase a colocar las iluminaciones, dando mas detalle al fuego el cual es una fuente de luz directa, también aplique algunos "brillitos" en los ojos del personaje y en zonas específicas para un mejor acabado.
