Sunday Showcase: Myllysaari Photowalk

This is a repost of a post I made on April 8 2021. It's been a really warm and nice summer. The weather when I made the post was still freezing and the lake was mostly frozen over. This post combines photos of nature and the urban environment.

Myllysaari is a small island at the end of a chain of islands jutting into Lake Vesijärvi. There is a small boat harbor and a club house belonging to a local boat club on the island. There is a restaurant in it open to the public in the summer.

This is the first of the three bridges leading to the end of the chain.

Where we came from. That's a nice place to build a house. That ice is too weak to walk on. It will most likely be gone by May 1.

The last two through the 300 mm lens. Looks very different, doesn't it?

You can see a bit of the city center.

The lake ice seems to have damaged this platform.

I like lakefront homes like this. But my wife doesn't. She says she wouldn't like her back yard being exposed to the wind like that. She has a point. Maybe that's not a good idea in this climate.
