Trying To Build A Decentralized Social Media Platform With VC Funding Gives You .... Steem

One of the most powerful aspects of Bitcoin is its origin myth. An anonymous person or entity published the white paper of a trustless electronic cash system without central authority during the chaotic aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008 and then developed the core software with a few other developers and disappeared without a trace.

Such myths are powerful stuff.

Hive is the real deal when it comes to powerful origin myths, although there's nothing secret about any of it. An asshole with deep pockets thought he could buy out the protocol and lord over it ever after. The community combined its forces to fork the chain with the asshole's stake replaced by a decentralized development controlled by stake-based community vote. The community proved that DPoS is secure against a money attack through forking. Eventually, the market proved the power of the community through valuing the HIVE coin higher in market cap than the original chain. This was 100% grassroots action. That's a movie we have already not only seen but been the production team of.

For app developers whose specs are met by what the Hive blockchain is capable of, there is no need to build a proprietary chain. Just plug-in your app with Hive and tap into an existing community of diehards.

Origin stories are indeed powerful in crypto.

I'm actually surprised that no crypto journalist working for some of the major outlets has jumped on board the Hive narrative.

We still get zero attention in the media.

If you're a good writer, our story of being born from the ashes after the community stood up to Justin Sun literally writes itself!

I remember Hive being written about when the situation was on. Since then, crypto journalists haven't written anything about Hive.
