El queso obediente

The mouse arrived with a cheese,
red and small in size
he left it on the table
and went to sleep until dinner time.

Al despertar el queso no estaba,
no se preocupó, más bien mantuvo la calma,
sacó un silbato del closet
y empezó a pitar con derroche.

When he woke up, the cheese was gone,
he didn't worry, but rather kept calm,
took a whistle out of the closet
and began to whistle profligately.

Y como en un cuento de hadas,
el queso vino caminando con gracia,
el ratón lo esperaba con un premio,
con un medallón de color bello,
que le colocó por su buen comportamiento.

And just like in a fairy tale
the cheese came walking gracefully,
the mouse was waiting for him with a prize,
with a beautifully colored medallion,
