Graduate With More Than Just A Certificate.
For me, I would say education and skills should go hand in hand. The world we live in today already demands that you be educated and also have a skill. What I'm saying is, we're not at a time when someone gets to choose between both. Nah, both should go hand in hand.
Education is very good and I will understand with those who might say it's just better to focus on it. But you will as well agree with me that having a certificate doesn't mean you have hands-on knowledge of something. Practical skills, in short, are very, very important. While you earn a certificate at the end of your academics, it is good to as well have a practical skill too.

And learning a skill before you graduate will definitely help you to have something you can fall back on later after graduation. Even before you graduate, it will help you navigate a lot of things in school. It helped me sort some bills while I was in school too. And there are a lot of skills you can learn today, either digital skills or the likes of tailoring, catering, hairdressing, and many more. I have friends who benefited a lot from their skills when they were in school, and they are grateful for learning them even till now.
Also, it is not so necessary for a student who learned a skill to turn it into a business while in school, like some of us did. But having that knowledge will help the later after graduation. There's the issue of unemployment; that's one part of life after school. It is not a curse, but not everyone will get a good job after finishing school. And that is where your skills come in handy. Most jobs today even require or ask for some skills you possess.
But then again, I feel I want to bend a little, and that is for those pursuing a career in professional programs. Even still, I feel there should still be certain skills they can learn or even learn one before getting into a higher institution at all.
What I'm just saying in essence is that it shouldn't be education vs. skills; nah, it should be education + skills.

Especially in Nigeria that can whine someone's destiny 😂.
Because even people with white collar job still combines it with a side buisness to survive.

You can't just afford to be educated without have a skill... Omo enh 😂
Practical skills are more than important in this present times. Education will give us grades and certificate, but most times we suffer hunger for years looking for jobs.
Practical skills are quick back-ups and sometimes leads to big opportunities.
