I Don't Just Want To Exist; I Want My Life To Mean Something—LOH#311

This is a situation I've found myself in countless times, just sitting down and doing some very deep thinking. Thinking about my life, my journey, and everything in-between, most of the time I'd find myself asking this question: "Why exactly am I here? What exactly is my purpose? What did God keep me?" And believe me, these questions are valid, especially for someone like me that life has thrown a lot of things at and is still standing, even when I had lost hope in myself; God kept me alive.

While growing up, I always thought it would be so easy; I never knew life is not a bed of roses. I thought discovering purpose would be easy; I never knew it is this hard. For me, I had to really experience life; just like I said earlier, I was faced with a lot of things that made me question everything I know. I had to fight really hard to keep standing; it wasn't easy. You know that kind of situation you're in, and you have no power over it. Time slips by, and I'm just there lying on the hospital bed with no hope of getting better soon. I was there for, like, two years, and all my plans and dreams have to take a pause. But looking back at it all now, I realize that those times taught me a lot of things too, things I wouldn't have ever known or learned.

Well, I'm still here discovering purpose, though; it is not that easy, and it is not something you discover overnight. And I won't want to lie or pretend that I do or already did. I know very well that I love to write, though, even before hive and aside from hive too. I write a lot. Not only that, but I love it when my words are able to reach someone, comfort someone, or be the right thing someone is supposed to read/see at a particular time/phase of their life. And at times, I'd wonder if that is also a part of my purpose.

As I will always say, I'm still a work in progress. So, as I'm still here discovering myself and doing the various things I love to do, I know that one of the reasons why I'm here is so that my life can mean something, something meaningful. I don't just want to exist; I want to touch lives, I want to make good impacts, I want to use my own story to give hope to others, and I want to use whatever God has given me to make life better and livable for someone else.

That hospital bed story hits different. Two years of waiting and questioning everything, yet you came out of it wanting to help others instead of closing off. That's rare.

Writing as purpose is a powerful choice. Words outlive us. Keep going. ✍️🖤

It is well... It is not a good experience at all. But then, I'm glad I'm able and hearty now.

Thanks a lot

The experience you describe—with everything you went through—is an example of resilience and, undoubtedly, a source of learning along your path. Furthermore, your choice to become a channel of blessing and hope for the world is part of your life’s purpose. Thank you for sharing your experiences once again @marsdave ,

I don't post pictures or videos of myself on social media because, to me, that would be "me wannting validation". Am I beautiful? Am I trending like other girls?
So, few years ago, I told myself that if I want to post videos or pictures of myself, it would come with a caption that communicate life, wholeness, integrity, dignity, and everything good to someone out there who needs it.
I am a motivational speaker, and also a public speaker and I always tell myself that whenever I am called outside to speak or when speaking to someone privatly, my word should leave a positive blueprint in such life

You may not have all the answers yet, but the fact that you are still trying to discover yourself is a beautiful thing. Keep going
