Mathematics And I Don't Agree.

Well, I actually have a subject that makes me feel proud as a student. That subject was computer science. I love it to the core, it's a subject that I never joked with. It's one that I have never struggled to understand or pass. It's just as if that subject was made for me.

And I have some of my friends who didn't like it back then and they can't help but wonder why and how I was so interested in it....well our way's are different.

Then I was still in secondary school, and I planned to go further in it and study it at the higher institution level. Well, I did try my best to, but life as we all know won't always go the way we planned it. I applied and wrote exams about four different times, of which I passed and got above the average/cut off mark, but I wasn't getting the admission, which to m is because of the bias, corruption and all in our institutions.

And time wasn't on my side, I had already spent four years trying to gain admission to study my desired course but it wasn't working, that was how I opted for my second most loved subject which was Agriculture. I love agriculture because it's one of he few courses that you don't need to start looking for a job when you're done. You can set up yourself and build something out of it....

And I can tell you in all honesty that I didn't make the wrong decision when I decided to study Agricultural Technology as a course. I'm now a graduate and I'm glad I went for it.

Now, the course I dislike most is mathematics. It always comes with headache, even though I'm not that bad at it, still I don't like it. And the only reason why I'm good with it to an extent is because back then when I was into computer science in secondary school, there's a bit of mathematics and statistics in it. So, I just read to pass also because I'm a science student and mathematics is a core subject.

Anytime I see a shape, either a cone, triangle or whatever shape it makes me hiss, it looks as if whatever the problem or question is, I can't and won't be able to solve it.

Let me add this even though it sounds somehow 🤦, the thing is I still don't enjoy mathematics till now. Even though I'm a school teacher at the moment, anytime I'm teaching and it gets to a part where calculating is needed, I go to invite my colleague who is a mathematics teacher to come help out. And it's a weakness I told my students about, even though they laughed it off when I told them back then, I was so good with the course I'm taking them that they don't believe I won't be good with other subjects like mathematics. But then, I was just being real with them... Mathematics is not my thing.
