My One Wish: A Second Chance — LOH#292

Here we are this week again...

Biggy thanks to @elizabethbit for this amazing topics. One's that looks simple on the surface but are in all honesty very deep.

This week, I'm going for the first topic that asks what my wish would be if a magic genie were to appear before me.

While thinking about the topic, a lot of things came to mind, talk of money, fame, luxurious life, and all those good things we can think of, but then I wasn't satisfied with it. One simple thing/wish still keeps coming to my mind.

And here's that simple wish... I wish for a complete second chance for myself and my family.

I know we all would have our own different wishes with our various reasons, I have my reasons too and I would love to share it.

My reason for that particular wish is one born out of real life experience and issues. A few years ago, I was seriously ill, and that illness led to various surgeries, countless hospital visits, debts, bills and all of that, and while I was fighting for my life, my family were there fighting and struggling to keep me alive.

And even though my parents often act all good and fine, I always see the worries in their eyes. My dad as at then was already retired, my mum was just a petty trader, and even my siblings weren't really doing well for themselves too, so it was a very trying moment for everyone of us, even still they wouldn't let me go, they sold what they could, borrowed, and sacrificed their all just so I could get a chance to live again.

All glory to God, I survived and their sacrifices paid off. But things changed, I was no longer the boy I used to be, there are certain jobs/works I can no longer engage in, my dreams were put on hold and my whole plans just had to change. And that is why my wish isn't any of the above things I mentioned earlier.

I believe a second chance will do better than anything. Because in that simple wish of mine lies various things. I mean that wish definitely looks and sounds like one, but it definitely has a lot more embedded in it.

A lot is embedded in that one wish; in it lies the wish for perfect health for me and for those who stood by me during my trying period, in that same wish lies the freedom from debts and struggles, in that same wish lies the ability to reward my parents for all they did, in it lies the wish to be able to help others who are struggling as well, and in that same wish lies the wish for the chance and opportunity to pursue my dreams without hindrances and limitations.

It's not easy suffering, and still watching those you love suffer all because they are trying to help you, so if there's actually a genie to grant my wish, that will definitely be what I will wish for. Because to me, that wish is one that will help erase the pain and all that I and my family have had to go through, and replace it with peace, good health, and happiness.
