Theres risk in helping others, you had a good intention, but it backfired and it led to a lot for you. Indeed, one should set boundaries while prioritizing integrity, even when it's hard. Its clear you've learned from your experience seeing how you are now more cautioned.

I became cautious really but easily fall pity when I see someone in some certain conditions. Helping shouldn't be a problem but a lot of people prefer to abuse privileges, causing the helper more problems.
I've been taken advantage of before, and it's draining. Either way, one should just learn to be more discerning about who to help and how, so as to avoid being exploited while still making a positive impact.
