Week 37 weekly Engagement. Definition of success

Jackson, a 21 years old graduate, felt that if he had an unimaginable wealth, he would finally see himself as being successful. A few years back, he thought that being a law student was in the zenith of success. Well, a few years down the line , he noticed that after amassing such wealth, he still didn't consider himself successful. He eventually found he was successful with little things he had done and achieved along the way. source

Now, oftentimes, we are just like Jackson, who attribute our success to material things like buying cars, building of houses, and having a fat bank account can be one's definition of success. Not just one, but a lot of people think that way. But defining success us is based on this , but it is rather limiting the whole idea of what we call success. Source

Nevertheless, it's safe to say that people's definition of success might vary over the years, as one grows, our perception towards success varies, and each human have their own personal definition of success

Do you know that a ten years old definition of success might narrow down to buying the things that he or she has wished for, also, a teenager's definition of success might be going into the university and studying his dream course and he called it a success. A young adult might narrow their success into having all the finance he or she ever get. And while a religious person that is converting people into their religion can call it a success.

This is to explain that our definition of success over the years might change, and constant factors that affect our definition of success are our values.

Our values always affect our perception towards success, and well before you finalize your idea on success, you should also recheck your ideas of value

If you can meet your monthly obligations and fulfill your basic needs, you are successful. Being able to identify you absolutely needs something, and when you can do without it, it often leads to financial stability, and it's a great way to succeed

Success in my own definition is doing things that doesn't go against my values where little things like family being able to afford their basic and secondary needs. And also my satisfaction that comes from within that my values where not compromised. When people dont believe in you, you still need to work pn your own confidence.
