MYSTERIOUS ROOM~The Ink Well PROMPT #104 - SUSPENSE

The basement filled with the whispering sound with no sign of any creature only abandoned objects in the apartment. The house has been left unattended for years as a result of multiple mysterious stories of a hunting demon who attacks people who come to dwell in the flat

A couple just arrived in the city due to their job transfer and needed an apartment. Emilia and her husband were new to the city and met agent Paul who helped them in finding a house. The couple didn't have any knowledge of the house being abandoned, so they settled the agent and signed the necessary documents.

She and her husband looked at their new home excitedly. One of the first things they did was explore the rooms. While opening the different rooms to check what renovation to make, they got to this particular room and it refused to unlock.

"This is the bunch of keys the agent handed over to me for the room" Emilia said anxiously.

"I will just have to break it with a hammer and get someone to get it fixed tomorrow" Emilia's husband assuringly.

When they finally got in, the single room was as dark as ebony unlike the rest. .

"This is mysterious and freaky, don't you think we should leave this room. I feel so weird about this particular room? I can barely see you and it's still a broad day"

"No hunny, Nothing is wrong with this room, it could be as a result of how it was designed. Don't get scared. This is heaven and I love it. I will make friends and explore the city in no time". Emilia said.

It next morning as they slept peacefully on their first day. When Emilia's husband left for work. She was tempted to revisit the dark room. As she went in, she started touching the abandoned items in the room. She saw a molded image of a doll with marks of tears gushing from its eyelids. She picked it up pitifully and while staring at it, the doll began weeping out tears.

She quickly threw it away and ran for the door but it locked before she could get to where the damaged handle was. She was trapped. She brought out her cell phone, turned on the light and the light dripped off by itself. She began to call her husband's line, his phone kept ringing but no one was answering. This was the worst moment of suspense in her life.

Emilia became fearful and uncertain of what will happen to her. She tried to find a way out, she turned to the position where the window is situated only to find the tall creature clothed in sparkling white garments. Screaming so loud with blood gushing out her eyelids. With this scream, Emilia felt a force lifting her up and strangling her by the neck. She shouted for help but no one could hear her.

Emilia's husband, who was busy with clients in a conference meeting, returned to see that he missed multiple calls from his wife. He returned the call but no response. His mind flashes back to the terrible experience they had in the house and he felt maybe his wife would be in danger. He narrated everything to his boss and the humble man excused him to go and find out if his wife was safe.

Before Emilia's husband could reach the mansion, Emilia was already half a life, lying on the floor unconscious. He called and searched for her in the rooms but nowhere until he got to the dark room. It was now open and he saw his wife lying on the floor and the room was quiet and peaceful. He rushed her to the hospital where she was received into the emergency room for weeks, she recovered but flashbacks persisted.

After their discharge, the couple agreed uniformly to depart the apartment. They went into the building avoiding the dark room, packed their things and left the mansion. After a series of investigations, they found that the dark room was to be avoided at all cost as an evil spirit had been bound in the dark room.

This spirit dues in the doll, when people rent the apartment the doll lures its victims into the room to capture their souls into falling in love with the room and afterwards the evil spirit in the doll manipulates and consumes their life. Emilia was a lucky woman because her husband arrived earlier to rescue her from the demon.
