INICIATIVA: My hair and me [ESP/ENG]
¡Tenemos nueva comunidad en Hive! Me encanta poder revisar mi feed y ver que la plataforma sigue creciendo. Recientemente recibí la invitación por parte de la amiga @yolimarag a la iniciativa de la comunidad C/Hair World y hoy quiero unirme contando mi experiencia.
We have a new community on Hive! I love to be able to check my feed and see that the platform keeps growing. I recently received the invitation from friend @yolimarag to the C/Hair World and today I want to join by telling my experience.
Escribir acerca de un tema al parecer muy “sencillo” para muchos quizás en mi caso ha sido un poco complejo. Una de las cosas en las que más se nota el paso del tiempo o los “añitos” que nos van llegando, es sin duda alguna nuestro cabello, incluso puede observarse la higiene, el cuidado y si realmente le damos importancia por mantener saludable a esa parte de nuestro cuerpo.
Mi experiencia realmente no ha sido muy cambiante pero, si he tenido momentos no muy agradables con querer “lucir” diferente grave error. Si sigues leyendo podrás entender específicamente a qué me refiero.
Writing about a topic that seems very "simple" for many, perhaps in my case has been a bit complex. One of the things in which the passage of time or the "years" that are coming to us, is undoubtedly our hair, even can be observed hygiene, care and if we really give importance to keep healthy to that part of our body.
My experience has not really been very changeable, but I have had some unpleasant moments with wanting to "look" different, serious mistake. If you keep reading you will understand specifically what I mean.
¿Qué tipo de cabello tienes?
Parece una pregunta algo extraña, generalmente decimos que conocemos nuestro cabello pero, siempre estamos en la búsqueda de opciones para “mejorarlo” o buscando productos sin saber si son acertados para el cuidado del mismo. Ahora bien, mi cabello naturalmente es liso con algunas ondas que comienzan después de la raíz, lo peino y aliso con gran facilidad, es delgado y grueso en algunas partes, color castaño claro aunque ya tengo canas ¡Me encantan! Es bastante graso y por esta razón debo lavar adecuadamente en periodos cortos.
What type of hair do you have?
It seems like a strange question, we usually say we know our hair but, we are always looking for options to "improve" it or looking for products without knowing if they are the right ones to take care of it. Now, my hair is naturally straight with some waves that start after the root, I comb and straighten it with great ease, it is thin and thick in some parts, light brown color although I already have gray hair I love it! It is quite greasy and for this reason I have to wash it properly in short periods of time.

¡Totalmente! Mi cabello es muy cambiante, pocas veces lo llevo suelto, aunque al recogerlo me da dolor de cabeza es el peinado que suelo usar más que todo por comodidad. Mayormente en mi rutina laboral lo más recomendable es llevarlo recogido ya que considero que es un tema de comodidad, practicidad y de higiene en caso de estar elaborando pasteles. Suelo usar cremas para peinar aunque no sea favorecedor ya que es muy graso, le proporcionan un olor agradable y lo hace más manejable a mi parecer. Durante algunas horas del día estoy expuesta al sol lo que me obliga a tener mayor cuidado en cuanto a hidratación.

Totally! My hair is very changeable, I rarely wear it loose, although it gives me a headache when I tie it up, it's the hairstyle I usually wear mostly for comfort. Mostly in my work routine the most advisable is to wear it up because I consider it is a matter of comfort, practicality and hygiene in case I am making cakes. I usually use styling creams even though it is not flattering since it is very greasy, they give it a pleasant smell and make it more manageable in my opinion. During some hours of the day I am exposed to the sun which forces me to be more careful in terms of hydration.
¿Qué te gustaría cambiar de tu cabello y por qué?
No tengo nada negativo qué decir de mi cabello aunque si he logrado algunos cambios que me encantan. Desde hace muchísimos años he venido cambiando el color, pasar de un castaño a darle reflejos con un tono inferior platinado ha sido mi look preferido, me gusta esa combinación que se logra sin teñir totalmente el cabello, aunque lamentablemente obtener este color es someter a horas de decoloraciones resultan perjudiciales para la salud del cabello, sin embargo, la recomendación es tener un cabello hidratado, sin coloración previas y en muy buenas condiciones. Otro punto importante es selecciona muy bien quien será la persona que haga este cambio en ti porque un error siempre será significativo.
What would you like to change about your hair and why?
I don't have anything negative to say about my hair although I have achieved some changes that I love. For many years I have been changing the color, going from a brown to give highlights with a lower platinum tone has been my favorite look, I like that combination that is achieved without completely dyeing the hair, but unfortunately to get this color is to submit to hours of discolorations are harmful to the health of the hair, however, the recommendation is to have a hydrated hair, without previous coloring and in very good condition. Another important point is to select very well who will be the person who will make this change in you because a mistake will always be significant.
¿De los cortes qué te has hecho ¿cuál es el más que te ha gustado?
He experimentado todo tipo de cortes, cortos, medianamente largo y largo. Actualmente llevo el cabello bastante largo con decoloraciones, creo va según la temporada, a veces me molesta el cabello tan largo que decido cortar algunos centímetros y otros momentos donde he querido un cambio radical. Aunque si me inclino mas al cabello largo, te hace lucir más joven ¡Ja,ja,ja!
Of all the haircuts you've had, which is the one you've liked the most?
I've experimented with all kinds of cuts, short, medium long and long. I currently wear my hair quite long with bleachings, I think it goes according to the season, sometimes it bothers me the hair so long that I decide to cut a few centimeters and other times when I wanted a radical change. Although I am more inclined to long hair, it makes you look younger ha ha ha!
¿Viviste alguna experiencia peculiar con tu cabello que te ha marcado? Si es así, cuéntanos tu historia.
¡Muy desagradable! Sufrí la peor quemada de mi cabello con decolorante, hubo un tiempo donde mi peluquera se había ido del país y quede sin alguien con experiencia para hacer mis “mechas”, recuerdo se me aproximaba un evento laboral y yo quería lucir un “cambio” ¡Vaya que cambio llevé” acudí a un lugar totalmente desconocido para mí, según tenía buenas referencias pero, luego confirme que era un total desastre, mi cabello se dañó cuando la chica uso un decolorante que estaba vencido y su acción fue tan rápida que quemó mi cabello en segundos. No sé quién estaba más asustada si ella o yo al ver la gran cantidad de cabello que caía al piso o quedaba en mis manos. Tuve un dolor de cabeza durante días y realmente no quería ver mi cabello destrozado. Posteriormente, fui a otro lugar donde hidrataron el cabello y lograron una leve mejoría pero, obviamente los daños causados por el decolorante eran irreversibles. Poco a poco fui restaurando mi cabello, el primer paso fue cortarlo muchísimo, aplicar algunas ampollas de restauración y olvidarme por completo de volver aplicar algún químico. Tenía que usar shampoo adecuado y algunas cremas que resultaban algo costosas y difíciles de conseguir. Fue un proceso que tardo aproximadamente 4 años en tener un cabello saludable, estaba indecisa de volver a decolorar pero, comprendí que no fue el producto sino una mala praxis ejecutada.
Have you had a peculiar experience with your hair that has marked you? If so, tell us your story.
Very unpleasant! I suffered the worst burn of my hair with bleach, there was a time when my hairdresser had left the country and I was left without someone with experience to do my "highlights", I remember I was approaching a work event and I wanted to look a "change" Wow what a change I took" I went to a place totally unknown to me, according to had good references but, then I confirmed that it was a total disaster, my hair was damaged when the girl used a bleach that was expired and its action was so fast that burned my hair in seconds. I don't know who was more scared if it was her or me seeing the huge amount of hair falling on the floor or left on my hands. I had a headache for days and really didn't want to see my hair shredded. Later, I went to another place where they moisturized the hair and made a slight improvement but obviously the damage caused by the bleach was irreversible. Little by little I was restoring my hair, the first step was to cut it a lot, apply some restoration ampoules and completely forget about reapplying any chemicals. I had to use the right shampoo and some creams that were somewhat expensive and difficult to get. It was a process that took about 4 years to have healthy hair, I was hesitant to bleach again but I realized that it was not the product but a bad practice.

Ese experiencia que viviste debió haber sido terrible. Y que pasarán 4 años para que se recuperara tu pelo, imagínate 😟 Ese es uno de los temores que tengo cuando quiero hacerme un cambio. A veces la gente dice que sabe pero en realidad no saben tanto.
