Black and White : Ethnics-Rohingya stranded in Aceh
Hey, friend everyone.
How are things today, certainly fine.
Today I have an interesting story for you, Aceh is where I live with an Indonesian nationality. On June 24, 2020, we were surprised by the arrival of ethnic Rohingya immigrants who were stranded in the waters off the province of Aceh.
Three Acehnese fishermen found them when the wooden boat almost sank slowly in the middle of the sea, then they were evacuated to their ship to be brought ashore so that they could be helped.
When they had reached 1 kilometer from the beach, they were stopped overnight for a while while using the permit to enter the area. after being counted by local security forces, as many as 94 people were successfully evacuated to their ships, 30 of whom were minors.
On that day I saw that they were already looking weak and hungry, even they asked for drinks and food in their own language.
The habits of the people of Aceh, social science especially Nelaya Aceh are very enthusiastic in helping people who are in need of help, especially in the middle of the sea with strong winds and big waves, because the incident of Rohingya residents stranded in the waters of the Sea of Aceh is not the first time it has happened. even before those who were stranded here were very well treated, both from the local government or the community.
We don't know where they want to go, which we will definitely help first, considering that there are many children on the boat if no one helps them to be taken ashore, we ourselves take them to the beach to give them food and drink. said the people watching from the beach.
