Breaking Chains
Hello Hivers Good morning and happy Tuesday am here to share a wonderful story of mine
This story of mine is an event based on film and still happens in real life was a story of a boy and his family it contains tragedy, sadness, and some laughter
It all began growing up with my parents I was still a small boy then am being taken care of and had about 3 other siblings with me I could say am firstborn and the other with me I could say we a family of six 3 males and also 3 females in the house we are not that rich but we depend on what we have things great then at some points in life there are things I began to understand as a growing up into a youth
It all began when I began clocking 15 years old the love I had for family started reducing and focusing on the younger siblings I don't mind that at all but such love was getting new clothes every Christmas for all of us children, buying us nice and delicious things to taste at home, Dad coming back having to play with us at Home and things were going great but at some points, those things began reducing I was clicking my early age of 17-18 years old I was never having so much fun anymore I began to realize at that point we all have to start depending on ourselves even while we in school at some points it didn't go well with me working side hustle and going to school
My Grades began dropping and was been scolded at home badly for falling grades truth be told I don't think they care about that simply because they never went through school, they never know how education means a lot I tried picking up trying to get my grades up but to no avail it never works out since am starting getting used to hustle, it get to a stage I dropped out of school and was hustling but not enough to satisfy them was like been scolded each day having a home with your relation but not feeling like a home as times pass I changed work and went to another work and each time I changed work I get to earn more salary and I dropped most of my salary to them sometimes it makes them happy I began feeling since it makes them happy I feel at ease a little
One certain day at work I was with a group of friends they were talking about how exciting going to college was and how astonishing it was to be at college I was feeling ashamed that I had to drop out of school feeling ashamed in the midst of them like do I ever have a hope of going to college anymore the word college touched me to the heart and reached out to my parents about me going to higher institutions at first they were like it a good idea but we're in the money to raise me to college and all shouldn't I rather focus on my working and earn more money then I can go to college as I want I thought about it and decided to work more I worked about a year or two but things not going as well as I planned instead some issues arises like spending the money I worked for to treat pain or rather get one or two wears in my body
Time passed and several issues kept coming up and was like would I ever go to college as I dreamt of it came to a certain time I raised money and wrote my WAEC myself and I did it once and passed the WAEC and came out with a good result but wasn't it supposed to be the duty of a parent to sponsor the kids
I was still struggling to gather money for college but the Economy is too poor to even raise the amount you needed except you school you get a job with good degrees I reached out to them and explained all of these to them they were feeling a little guilty of their action and helped me enter college I was happy and was now like okay they seemed to be in my favour I started out college thinking am free of work
It wasn't like that I never knew their real intention was for me to enter and look for work within there and work normally I would have guessed so but was blinded by the little happiness I saw so far after a while things being got difficult at my end here I tried looking for work which I can do and also being able to school that I had to register for the part-time program it was to no avail no employer would want to employ someone who would want to work only Monday-Friday and leave out the weekends sometimes you might see but it will be far from your location and you don't have anyone you can reach out to that would let you accommodate with in that specific location you got work

It's unfair that some parents let their kids go to school and then leave them to fend for themselves. It's just bad
Yes so really unfair and you don't have choice to make
The truth about this is that's how most Nigerian home is, I can't even start talking about mine. God will help us

This is a sad story I was actually expecting something funny tho.
I can relate with you because I have a friend who the same thing happened to. The painful part was that he dropped out in his third year of university. He could have at least asked for help but he kept everything to himself.

Working and schooling at the same time, will have a slight effects on our performance, that one is normal, but for one to work and still going to school, Is a good thing, considering the way things are now, the person that has taste how working life is, will not have any more challenges after school, in terms of working.
