The roots crops like I mentioned earlier in my post are very nourishable but the only difference between the root crops and the normal grain crops are just that, the grains may take less period of time for it to mature but for the root crops it takes more than four to five months just like in the case of cassava.

Root crops such as yam takes five months or more depending on the soil properties and also soil formation. In the case of this particular root crop that I'm talking about presently it's called COCOYAM. The cocoyam is the kind of food crop that is been planted at the middle of the rainfall and as a farmer you need to take so many things into consideration the type of soil you want to plant and also the location itself. These are the quality and what you need to know about cocoyam.

What You Need To Know About Cocoyam.

• Cocoyam is almost the same family with yam itself but in the case of cocoyam it's us a little bit of diversion when it comes to it bearing of its food produce. And also it grow in pairs inside the soil Whereas for yam it just 1 tuber of yam for the rest of 5 to 6 months.

• Cocoyam also can we start and what is called mixed cropping or mixed farming and in this case you can plant in between your already grow up cocoyam. In this picture below you see the cocoyam I'm in the middle they planted chill Pepper.

• It is a very mid tiny long stem formation which is also succulent. Is it cannot be consumable but can be fed to Cattle confidently.

• Afterwards you already planted just one half cocoyam set it will grow into a very full cocoyam tubber with so many eyes growing up all around its body as far as the soil already covered it's all.

• At the end of the day after 5 months of planting you have a state and it can be finally use as a carbohydrate source likewise it can also be pound into a paste.
