Progress on the farm will always show itself in as much as there is very much active way and manner to approach every step you take on the farm. Sometimes ago I showed us that when preparing a huge and massive agricultural farmland for production of any crop, we should always take not that there are more emphasis to be placed on the crop as well as the agricultural farmland. The fact that they used agricultural farmland is not too expose to farming what we cultivated on it grow very well.

The Maize 🌽🌽 Farm is going up and we had to use all our efforts to process what is called Quick weeding. This is all what it takes sometimes to make your farm look extremely clean and free from predators. There are some predators that also visit the farm even when the farm is clean I have sent several cases before. It has happened to me recently, whereby the other section of the Maize 🌽🌽 farm was cleared. And yet we still recorded more of the Maize been eaten up at space interval on the farm.

Some animals like grasscutters, smaller rats, squirrel, and some other smaller animals they visit the farm that is clean in between the rolls and column. Or even at the edges of the farm. They always move around in groups. Such that even when you capture one or two, they will always have their way inside the farm. And dismantle both succulent and hard stem crops. That was the reason why we quickly engage in the cleaning of the farm. And I also took some pictures as we did it absolute cleaning.

• What I learned from my late dad was that it is good to make sure that your farm is clean and healthy. This is because even you as a farmer you will always be happy to show others farmers what you have in your farm. Also showing them how it is been done.

We have the plan to include some other crops as well immediately the Maize 🌽🌽 reaches a particular fruiting stage or flowering stages. This may be crawling crops like the sweet potato. It can absolutely work with cassava at the same time.

The space in between the cultivated crop always make a lot of difference because when you leave a lot of space it will give you more inspiration to chip in other crops in between. But when the crops you first of all planted is so close together. There will always be problem along the line for any crop to come in between. Planting spacing is highly necessary.

This is also one thing we face at this point eating up leaves when we have excess rainfall.

You can also see that the maize crop has the surrounding soil which I use to cover up the main plant. You can also do this to maintain good soil nutrients for your crop. Not only for Maize 🌽🌽 alone. Crops such as 🫑🌶️🫑, carrot 🥕🥕, onions 🧅🧅, green vegetables 🌱🌿🌱 also needs this practice. Likewise cassava, yam and many more.

The same way we practice mulching. Is also this kind of practice not exposing the root of the cultivated crop to erosion or sunlight. When we do this we will always enjoy the crop growth and development.
