The HARVESTING Using Hand Trowel. Tumeric Root With Great Matured Root ( 7 Months Of Planting ) Experiment And Experience.

Hello Hivers 💕💘,

On my post which I made earlier few days ago I made mention of our I encountered myself to become a Tumeric farmer. It wasn't intentionally made but out of research and experiments it happened and it has become part of my own day-to-day activities and also daily life to do whatever will make me happy as individual and also as a farmer. They are are several things which can change our motive as individual farmers which has never been done. Some reasons being that we may not be chanced to carry out the task or experiments but to the best of my knowledge you can cultivate the habit of planting just few stands or seed and from there you up serve and also keep your records daily or weekly to know if you can go into it fully. When I did my own Tumeric planting I took the records and the records said that before it can start to bring out fully matured, it will take 7 months old. Although those ones I planted was not hybrid. But nevertheless it took seven months for it to grow up and reach it fully maturity stage. In your own environment as well you can give a trial. And also share your experience while growing up with pictures.

  • These are the tools I used when I wanted to carry out the harvesting. It was done gently in order not to disturb the remaining Tumeric plants. It is highly necessary to be gentle while the harvesting is going on.
  • I used a hand trowel, and also a flat plastic tray.

  • HARVESTING:.

  • I used hand trowel to divide the area I was going to harvest. After then I also used my hand to dig gently then other nuts to use the very sharp object to cut the roots into pieces. So I decided to use my hands.

  • The digging was done slowly. And it also showed after I finished handling the Tumeric plant with roots out of the soil, the mobile seedbed. This was how it looks like, even the stem look very succulent. After I harvested the main Tumeric root, the upper layer of the roots smell so nice and inviting. So I had to separate the top layer of the stem into a another separate section, then cut them together.

  • While I was using my hand to dick the mobile seedbed, my fingers were touching the roots of the Tumeric plant, so I decided to cut them slowly.

  • This was inside the mobile seedbed and inside this as well were the root of the Tumeric I harvested.

IMG_20230706_155702_976.jpg

  • This was after I had already I wasted those ones I intended to harvest. Initially I wanted to harvest as much as possible so that the next step will be done but after words, I changed my mind because of storage difficulties.

  • After the harvesting comes the sorting out, the good from the bad ones. I saw some already spoilt ones under the soil and together I brought them out. So. Sorted out is highly necessary and important.

  • WASHING:.

The washing was done properly, there were alot of small sands at the small edges and corners of the Tumeric root. If not, it wont be extremely usable.

Wow! The tumeric looks so healthy. They are good for the body. Over here, I haven't seen farmers growing them.

I never planned on getting it as a Farmer but when I did some researches on it benefits and health advantages I gave it a trial. You can also make it too. I'm planning on planting Garlic 🧄🧄 and Onions 🧅🧅 too.

Ohhhh, so the tumeric has actually gone ripe for harvesting
Over here, I enjoy doing the harvest with bare hands since they're tiny nuts but they stain my nails terribly 🤣

Yes. Tiny and also they go down the soil so much. So I also use bear hands too.
