Tiger nut is one of crops that is not too common at all even in the western region of Nigeria. It is been said that there are some possible crops that you will definitely see here in West Africa Nigeria most especially the Western region. The crops that is being cultivated here is absolutely different from the ones you will see in the northern part of Nigeria likewise in the eastern parts of Nigeria so it is never the same type of crops although, there are some common crops that is being cultivated generally. When you talk about cassava, maize ,yam ,Pepper, it is likely for you to see it common.

For this ones that I planted it is called the experimental trial whereby it is being cultivated to be controlled and also to take notes of so many things such as the time of planting, the duration Period, pest and diseases control. Fertilizer application if needed. This and many more other symptoms are to be observed before the experimental trial ends. So what I am saying in essence is that it is the best way of learning when you try as much as possible to plant crops that are not very common this will make you to understand more about the cultivation process and how you can definitely survive with so many challenges. Even when you plant your cassava they are so many challenges to be faced and if care is not taking it will just be planted and there will be nothing to show for it.

When I first of all planned to plant the tiger nut I did not even read any article on the planting yet I brought out my mobile seed bed and the cultivation began instantly. The land preparation was done accurately and the planting was also done yes here is what we have on ground. So many people see it and it was like what is this? So many people consume tiger nuts in both fresh and dry form but yet they do not know how it is been planted or gotten. The pictures below showed more about the progress of the tiger nuts planting as the experimental trial using the mobile seedbed planting techniques.

• The planting of the tiger nut is not to complex but you need to observe so many things before you come to the conclusion of planting the tiger nuts seed. Where do you plan to plant the tiger nut which will bring more natural ventilation and absolutely 80 to 95% photosynthesis production.

What I always do is this which is known as artificial method of application of water. When you have zero knowledge of how the planting is been done you need to create your own way to plant and make it survive. Since I have been into the planting of crops for several years I already know what is expected of me as the farmer.

What I observe is that you can as well plant different types of crop with the tiger nut. The only thing needed is to be a different type of crop because of the nature of the main purpose of planting.

Constant application of water is done regularly to make it survive up to this present time. When you do not apply your water regularly the first thing you will notice is that it will retard in growth. Which means that the main purpose of planting the crop will be at loss. I left the tiger nut for some few hours without application of water and the result was very bad because the whole plant went down.

When I tried to harvest the tiger nut this was what came out which means that it growth and development is on point. This is why most cases you need to be physically present in your farm to know the challenges you are facing yourself. When you hire labor, you must also be physically present in your farm.

The rate at which the tiger nut sprout out from the soil and started growing up was very encouraging. This is why creativity comes in agriculture. You must be ready available to create another environment which will suit your crops and animals and also give you the best healthy production.

I intentionally approached the tiger nut root and it was very productive within 12 weeks of planting.
