In agricultural mindset we have different types of animal breeds which also varies from one country to another and this is why most animal farmers believe in crossing their own animals. This belief is based on individual discretion which also lies between having an original animal breed as well as mix animal breed. Take for distance in animal production we have pure breeding while we also have mixed animal breeding.

The pure animal breeding is an avenue whereby you mate just the parent stock which are pure breed. In west African Nigeria this pure breed is not too common unless you make a purchase from outside Nigeria or you make an order from United States or neighboring country. Then you have a pure breed animal such as rabbit, dogs, cats, pig, parrot, white rat, snails, pigeon bird, Turkey birds, Grasscutter and so on. This is when you can be boostful that you have a pure breed but in as much as you crossbreed today animal you have in your offer with your neighbor or friend's farm who also breed mixed animals. Then it is just a rotation of mix animal breeding. While I was in the university we have some special rabbit because it was purchase from the Ahmadu Bello University ( ABU Zaria ) and they are purely they first parent stock which are also called the pure breed. What they did was that they made another rabbit pen for them with a lot of facilities. So we visit them regularly to check on their temperature and also to cool them down because they do not like the heat at all. There own treatment was so special. But in my own case I have the mix animal breed which I cross from one male to another female. When I made a conversation and negotiation with a farmer who has the pure breed animals which are mostly rabbit its more than 10 times costly than the mix breed. I took some pictures of my own rabbit I have in my own farm. I'm also planning on getting more of different types of rabbit breeds.

The most cases you will see almost the same rabbit breeds in west African Nigeria but for those that request for the pure breeds. It will be source from another country. But when you do this you will be fully prepared of so many challenges that come forth.

This ones in the cage is called the New Zealand white like I said earlier they are all mix breed. So many people will tell you that he or she has a pure breeds animal but I can assure you that when you put them through so many test you find out that they are not pure.

The challenges that are faced with the pure breed of rabbit are very costly to handle. Sometimes you need to build another house to put them with a lot of cooling facilities. Although naturally rabbit do not need a lot of Heat. They dislike it. Sometimes when you observe that your rabbit temperature is high it is normal for you as a farmer to keep them in very cool environment.

The weaner rabbit also must be safe handling so that the growth and development will be rapid. Very soon I'm going to show more of my rabbit because some of them are coming from Ibadan, Oyo state.
