El método Williams se estrenó el 19 de noviembre del 2021, cabe destacar que esta película fue basada en hechos de la vida real. Una familia llena de entusiasmo y sobre todo disciplina fue una de las cosas que los llevaron a triunfar. Richard Williams un padre de cinco hijas en busca que dos de estas, Venus de 11 años y Serena de 9, triunfen en el tenis. Siendo una familia de afroamericanos y de clase baja era un objetivo algo complicado debido a que en la época de los 90s el racismo aun era latente. Básicamente el tenis era un deporte para gente rica y blanca. Pero Richard no se daría por vencido porque cuando él era joven fue tenista al igual que su esposa pero no llego a los grandes campeonatos debido a su estatus y color de piel, pero sin embargo quería que la historia fuera diferente para sus hijas. Este estudiaba día y noche para poder ser un buen entrenador, pues, este le daba clases de tenis a sus hijas. La frase más usada por Richard era "No gana el que duerme, si no el que sueña" por ende este de día le buscaba oportunidades a sus hijas en academias, en las tardes las entrenaba y en las noches este trabajaba como vigilante.
The Williams Method will be released on November 19, 2021, it should be noted that this film was based on real life events. A family full of enthusiasm and above all discipline was one of the things that led them to succeed. Richard Williams, a father of five daughters, is looking for two of them, Venus, 11, and Serena, 9, to succeed in tennis. Being an African-American and lower class family, it was a somewhat complicated goal because in the 90s racism was still latent. Basically, tennis was a sport for rich, white people. But Richard would not give up because when he was young he was a tennis player like his wife but did not make it to the big championships due to his status and skin color, but nevertheless he wanted the story to be different for his daughters. He studied day and night to be a good coach, because he gave tennis lessons to his daughters. The phrase most used by Richard was "It is not he who sleeps who wins, but he who dreams", therefore he looked for opportunities for his daughters in academies during the day, in the afternoons he trained them and in the evenings he worked as a watchman.
Richard solía darle práctica a sus hijas en una cancha del vecindario en el cual siempre habían unos pandilleros que le hacían la vida imposible a él y a sus hijas. Su madre en cambio era enfermera, así que trabajaba casi todo el día. Incluso las niñas eran excelente en clases como en el tenis. El plan de Richard era que sus hijas revolucionarán el mundo del tenis y este no se iba a rendir hasta que su plan funcionará al pie de la letra. Día a día Richard acudía a academias pero todas le terminaban dando respuestas negativas, debido a que la propuesta de él era que las academias entrenarán a sus hijas de forma gratuita y cuando estás fueran unas estrellas del tenis les pagarían todo, es por ello que todos rechazaban a las niñas. Exhausto de que los pandilleros lo golpearan por defender a sus hijas este toma una decisión impulsiva de acabar con ellos, así que toma un arma de su trabajo y va directamente hacia ellos pero para su sorpresa en el momento que llega otro auto se acerca y le comienza a disparar a los pandilleros, al parecer era un problema entre pandillas.
Richard used to give his daughters practice on a neighborhood court where there were always some gang members who made life miserable for him and his daughters. Their mother was a nurse, so she worked most of the day. Even the girls excelled in classes like tennis. Richard's plan was for his daughters to revolutionize the tennis world and he was not going to give up until his plan worked to the letter. Day by day Richard went to academies but they all ended up giving him negative answers, because his proposal was that the academies would train his daughters for free and when they were tennis stars they would pay for everything, which is why they all rejected the girls. Exhausted that the gang members beat him for defending his daughters he makes an impulsive decision to finish them off, so he takes a gun from his work and goes straight to them but to his surprise at the moment he arrives another car approaches and starts shooting at the gang members, apparently it was a problem between gangs.
Taking a risk, the next day Williams takes Venus and Serena to an academy, he seeks the opportunity for the owner and coach to see his daughters play. After so much insistence, the coach accepts. Upon seeing them play, the coach is interested in Venus' technique so he decides to train her for free. Serena when seeing that she was not chosen felt quite sad because she thought she was not as good as Venus, seeing this her mother gives a lot of encouragement to Serena and takes her to train. Williams, used to being the coach of his daughters, begins to correct Venus in the training, a situation that is no longer his responsibility, but to his new coach, who gets angry and asks Williams to let him do his job. Seeing Richard's insistence, the coach proposes that he take Venus to the "juniors", a competition that allows young tennis players to develop in a better way and even reach the big leagues, since that is where many of the star tennis players came from. Venus' first day in the juniors was quite entertaining as it was the first time she played with someone other than her sisters. Weeks went by and Venus was winning every match, Serena was happy about that but she wanted to play too, so she also signed up for the juniors with her mother's consent.
Llega el momento que Richard estaba esperando, el patrocinio de unos agentes del junior pero estos le ofrecen que sus hijas estarán jugando en campeonatos nacionales hasta su adultez pero a Richard no le agrado esto puesto que una de las reglas de su plan era que sus niñas iban a participar en campeonatos cuando sean adultas, del resto seguirán jugando y practicando, para así poder prestarle atención a sus estudios y al deporte de forma equitativa. Cabe destacar que está academia fue recomendada por el entrenador de Venus lo cual le enfado mucho a Williams así que decido que no seguiría trabajando con él.
The moment that Richard was waiting for arrived, the sponsorship of some junior agents, but they offered him that his daughters would be playing in national championships until their adulthood, but Richard did not like this since one of the rules of his plan was that his girls would participate in championships when they were adults, the rest would continue playing and practicing, in order to pay attention to their studies and sports in an equitable way. It should be noted that this academy was recommended by Venus' coach, which made Williams very angry, so she decided that she would not continue working with him.
Richard decidió dejar los Junior pero todos los entrenadores le comentaban que ese campeonato es necesario para que sus hijas tengan un futuro en el tenis. Pero a pesar de ello Richard no se rindió y siguió entrenando a sus hijas y buscando a un agente que las patrocinará de forma gratuita hasta su adultez. Para su suerte Richard encuentra a otro entrenador de la ciudad de Florida que acepta la propuesta de Williams pero debido a que la academia estaba ubicada en otra ciudad Richard le entrega un contrato al entrenador con requerimientos y uno de estos eran que toda su familia se tenía que mudar para Florida, aparte este le tenía que conseguir una casa, trabajo y una buena escuela para las chicas. Por fortuna el entrenador acepto porque veía potencial en Venus y Serena. Así que una nueva aventura se avecinaba para la familia Williams.
Richard decided to quit the Juniors but all the coaches told him that this championship is necessary for his daughters to have a future in tennis. But in spite of this Richard did not give up and continued coaching his daughters and looking for an agent who would sponsor them for free until their adulthood. Luckily Richard found another coach in Florida who accepted Williams' proposal but because the academy was located in another city, Richard gave the coach a contract with requirements and one of them was that his whole family had to move to Florida and he had to find a house, a job and a good school for the girls. Fortunately the coach agreed because he saw potential in Venus and Serena. So a new adventure was on the horizon for the Williams family.
Una academia bastante lujosa, todo marchaba perfecto. Pero el entrenador insistía que las jóvenes tenían que ir a los Junior que ese era el único camino para triunfar, pero Richard se seguía negando. Luego de todos los gastos que había hecho el nuevo entrenador, este decidió calmarse por un tiempo. Pasados los tres años Venus estaba ansiosa de competir y para su suerte se aproximaba un gran torneo junior, así que decide convencer a su padre para que la deje competir. Pasaron varias escenas e inconvenientes pero al final Richard acepta que su hija participe en el torneo.
A rather luxurious academy, everything was going perfectly. But the coach insisted that the girls had to go to the Juniors, that this was the only way to succeed, but Richard still refused. After all the expenses the new coach had incurred, he decided to calm down for a while. After three years Venus was anxious to compete and as luck would have it, a big junior tournament was coming up, so she decided to convince her father to let her compete. Several scenes and inconveniences happened but in the end Richard agreed to let his daughter participate in the tournament.
Pasando por mucha presión Venus pierde el torneo pero este no es el fin, si no el inicio de una gran carrera al día siguiente del torneo comenzaron a llover propuestas de marcas y empresas que la querían patrocinar incluyendo Nike, Puma, fila, Reebok entre otras. Nueve meses después Venus firmó un contrato por 12 millones de dólares con la marca Reebok, apenas con 15 años. Sin embargo Serena sigo estudiando y dedicándose a sus cosas. Venus, a sus 41 años ha ganado el wimblendon cinco veces, fue la primera mujer afroamericana en ser clasificada como la mejor del mundo. Sin embargo Serena a sus 40 años ha ganado el Gran SLAM 23 veces, es considerada la mejor tenista de la historia del tenis, tal como su padre Richard lo predijo. Su dedicación y esfuerzo lo llevaron a cumplir su plan al pie de la letra.
Under a lot of pressure, Venus lost the tournament, but this was not the end, but the beginning of a great career. The day after the tournament, proposals from brands and companies that wanted to sponsor her, including Nike, Puma, Rowa, Reebok, among others, began to pour in. Nine months later Venus signed a contract for 12 million dollars with the Reebok brand, just 15 years old. However, Serena continued studying and doing her own thing. Venus, at 41 years old, has won the Wimbledon five times and was the first African-American woman to be ranked as the best in the world. Serena, however, at 40 years old, has won the Grand Slam 23 times and is considered the best tennis player in the history of tennis, just as her father Richard predicted. His dedication and effort led him to fulfill his plan to the letter.

I love this movie because of the message of motivation and improvement that it conveys, besides the unconditional love and support between parents and children.
One of my favorite sports is tennis, and Serena Williams is an exemplary person on and off the court, so it has been of much pleasure for me to know about this movie that is focused on the beginning of her career and that of her sister Venus.
