Splinterlands - Best ways to earn SPS?

We are nearly 1/3 completed from the 365 days of SPS air drop. There is now a little over 310 million SPS distributed and about 175 million are staked. The remaining 135 million in circulation is either being held to be sold for Chao Legion packs, being used in liquidity pools, selling in exchanges or simply held as liquidity in players' wallets. There is actually around +81 million in liquidity based on peakmonsters top holders data.

Earning SPS From Air Drop

There are approximately 1.1 million SPS air drop each day and is based on each players collection point over the total aggregate. As of now Splintercards.com has estimated each 100,000 collection points equates to 12.5 SPS give per daily air drop. There are multiple ways to accumulate collection points however personal experience it appears getting collection points is expensive.

For example 1 DEC equates to 1 collection point. However purchasing a card with DEC will likely erode air drop points.

A gold foil Beetle Queen collection point is 3,000 point but will cost 12,750 DEC to purchase. That is a loss of 9,750 collection points. So many who are currently purchasing cards are reducing their opportunity of earning more SPS by just holding DEC. Although sellers of cards are earning more SPS with the card sales.

Staking SPS

With 1,000 SPS staked there is a daily earning of 1.41 SPS. The earned SPS is liquid but players can stake those daily to increase their SPS earnings.

Chart above is from splintercards.com and shows the approximate earning of how much SPS earned per 1000 SPS stake. A careful look at this is by the time 500 million SPS is staked the earned SPS is just a meager 0.50 per 1000 SPS staked.

With 1.1 million SPS air drop per a day it will take more than the remaining +250 days to hit 500 million SPS alone. However in between the end of the air drop from now there are events and promotions with additional SPS distributions. So this is why currently there is over 300 million already distributed.

With less than two weeks before the end of the Chaos Legions presale there can be potentially more SPS used to purchase packs. The conclusion still is SPS hitting 500 milllion will likely happen before end of the air drop. Hence staking SPS may not result in the most SPS rewarded.

Straight Purchase SPS in Open Markets

Current market price for SPS has held steady to be under $0.49 each. For weeks it has been holding slightly above $0.50 but not over $0.80 for long. What is interesting though is SPS price continues to fall as more SPS comes into distribution. The possibility to steadily increase SPS at current prices seems like a reasonable way to invest into SPS.

Earn SPS So May Ways

What I looked at are just the daily ways we as players or participants of Splinterlands can be earning. There are other ways of earning SPS such as partaking in tournaments and partaking in liquidity pools. What seems like an opportunity to accumulate SPS is to straight out purchase the ones that are not staked. These appear to be paper hands holding their SPS. I for one will be looking to continue adding to my SPS position and buying them directly through Hive-Engine will be one of my primarily source to accumulate SPS.
