Splinterlands - How To Grow An Account?

This post is more of a reflection of my progress in the game and what I foresee in its future. By looking at where I have come it will also provide other Splinterlands players an idea of where they can head towards if sticking out for the long run. Lets get straight to it.

Play In Higher Leagues

This one is very obvious but I like to point out it was not so in the past.. Let me explain.

Today it is not possible to earn enough daily rewards if one plays in the Novice to bronze league. Back in the day players can still earn DEC per a win and that is on top of the daily quest rewards. In addition the reward chests were always cards and potions were allow to be used on reward chests. As the game grew in popularity the developers decided to lower the rewards and not have all chests be cards alone but a mix of different rewards.

Stake Splinterlands Assets

Back when Splinterlands only had DEC as the in game token that can be traded on Hive blockchain there was no rewards for holding DEC. Instead people held their DEC either to await for higher prices and trade it on Hive Engine, or save it to purchase cards, or simply upgrade their guilds by spending the DEC.

Forward a couple of years and here comes this collection points and earning the game's governance token SPS. Ideally one wants more of all tokens associated with Splinterlands and boy are there plenty. From Splintertalk's SPT, to SPS, vouchers, and of course DEC. Holding more of those tokens in turn will yield more.

Passive Income?

I think the best kept secret in the game of Splinterlands is the rentals of NFTs. I have play countless NFT games and have yet to find a game that has a rental system as good and easy to use as on Splinterlands.

Through the years I have won enough reward cards to be able to trade for packs and unique cards. In turn I have been able to rent out cards I do not use to earn a continuous daily amount of DEC. The DEC I get is accumulated and spent back in game with purchasing more cards. This creates a positive feed back loop when my account continues to grow as long as people are intereted in the game.

Conclusions

Lets review the things discussed.

1. Play in higher leagues. This is an obvious but how does one do so? In terms of playing higher leagues you would need higher level cards but what if you don't have that kind of income to spend. You can either rent or try out competitions to earn and accumulate enough rewards to obtain cards. The reality is the more you put in the more you return.

2. Accumulating cards is one thing but there is also the accumulation of in game assets such as land and tokens in SPS and DEC. Staking SPS has a yield and daily reward. Holding DEC earns daily SPS. Diamond hands the Splinterlands assets and you will not regret.

3. There is a secret positive feedback look in the game. I have somewhat achieved it due in part I am able to earn a small daily amount of DEC by renting out a majority of my cards. This in turn allows me to have DEC to spend on growing my deck and be competitive in the game.

Last but not least is to clarify that it took me years of playing almost daily and patiently stacking cards to be able to be where I am today. This process takes time to grow wealth, but if one is willing to put in that time they will see results down the road.
