Splinterlands - My Season 65 Results

Another season is over and am here to talk about my results. I will go over how much I earn through play 2 earn in rank battles and in my lending of cards. Will my core earning in lending be as good as past seasons? Read the post to find out. My overall goal of the post is to archive my progress and plan ahead for next season and beyond. Thanks!

Season Ending Rewards

This season I ended at Gold II therefore I open 27 chests. Best card I pulled was a epic Djinn Chwala but no gold foils. I did not even get a rare card and remaining cards were all common. For potions and DEC there was not much as the best chest turn out to have 59 DEC.

Play 2 Earn Stats and Results

I ended the season at Gold II but what is disappointing is that my win to loss ratio was slightly below 1. This meant I lost more than I won overall for the season.

For all the daily quest chest rewards and season end the total added up to around 3600 DEC equivalent in value. While my rank battle DEC earnings and combined together was a little under 6,000 DEC.

This was actually better than last season where total was slightly under 5,000 DEC in season 64. So overall my play 2 earn was a success as I increased my earning in this category by 20% from season to season.

Rental Earnings

I have again rented out majority of my cards for this season however main cards that I feel of greater use I kept to perform better in play 2 earn. Since the drop of rental prices with Chaos release and the reduction of overall amount of cards I rented out for this season compared to last season it should come to no surprise I am going to earn less from rentals. However how much less?

A staggering +24% drop in rental earnings to be exact. I earned net total from rentals a little over 42k DEC. Last season I had about +55k DEC in earnings. For back to back seasons I have drop in significant amount of earnings. Do I want it like this, of course not, but have no control of that as its a free market. What I have noticed is that Chaos cards are allowing people to play good enough not to have to rent. This will not change moving forward as more Chaos cards are release in future pack sales.

Meanwhile the price of DEC and SPS continue to fall further since last season making it a double whammy with the fact that I had lower earnings in rental and the earnings were valued less today than it was last season.

Ending Thoughts

My focus now is toward increasing my Chaos card collection and presale part 3 is about to begin in less than two days. The chances of continuing to play will comes down to how much I invest in the new card collection. I have found that the new series of cards are better at competing in play 2 earn. So good it is better than old series.

I have no control of the rental markets if it continues to fall all I can do is continue lending more cards if I can to earn more. Besides that it is what it is. I will continue renting as majority of my earnings comes from rental market. Until the rental earnings is as low as my play 2 earn will I try to reconfigure my whole plan.

For now the goal is to continue earning mainly passively while re-investing the earning in enhancing my deck with new cards. As more cards come into circulation I will see how the next season plays out.
