Chimpanzee - Pen Drawing
Hi all, greetings!
Here is my new pen drawing from my animal series.
It's been a while I drew a Chimpanzee. I think I should look into drawing them more often. They are really fun to draw - especially those their expressions and the rigorous strokes moving around their faces and fur to build forms.
The drawing was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper using scribble style. You can see my steps below:

I personally don't see it as ugly. I see it as a special creature both in appearance and in behavior.

Chimpanzees are one of the animals discussed, of course they are very intelligent. Although I have never met an animal like this in person.
Yeh, they are animals possess some of the characteristics of that of a human.
They are super intelligent, but orangutans are even more intelligent. World needs more orangutans.
Hehe, you are probably right. I once saw a photo of an orangutan trying to rescue a man who entered a pit. I stretched forth one of its hands to hold the man.

There are also studies in linguistics where they try to teach language to primates. Orangutans were only primates (besides humans) that could actually communicate beyond just mimicking.
Ohh, really? They tried to language to other primates? Interesting...
It was sign language, and yes, communication with same and across species.
