Drawing A Portrait [1033]

20230112_125844.jpg

Hello everyone!

Today, I want to share with you my new art work. It's a random portrait drawing of an old man with grey hairs. He looks happy with lots of wrinkles on his face; he doesn't seems to be bothered much about life.

I actually love how those squiggles worked together to build forms on his face.

The portrait was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper. I used scribble technique to create this piece.

Below are my step-by-step processes:

Thank you.

I was waiting for this post! 😊

Indeed, the swiggles worked well to highlight various crevices within the face. The area around the mouth is particularly difficult, but you really nailed it - yet again. Great work Maxwell!

He has a real eye for interesting subjects too. Old, young, or neither. They always are great subjects that evoke emotional response. Look how some details are hidden except by changing stroke direction or style. Look at the lips, the chin, and the hairline. The thought. The talent. This is all freehand!

Yup, interesting subjects are what attract me and I try to define meaning from each of them.
Thanks for your kind feedback.

Yeah, you can vividly see the wrinkles and the flow of the strokes. Thank you.

I seldom see you draw an old man here. So, this is like fresh for me. 😊 Love it!
