How To Draw A Figure - Digital Illustration

This is a simple guide on how to make a figure drawing using scribble style.

The application I used is AutoDesk sketchbook and the model I used is a boy carrying a can at his back and in a sad mood.

Step 1

First of all make a rigorous outline sketch. You don't need to be precise here - just simple lines. The goal is to get the range and base of the work. Only the pose is noticed here. Remember to your lines it look faint.

Step 2

Next step is to make adjustments - observe carefully where there might be errors and correct.. Then followed by adding facial features. Here, the face of the model can be depicted if you wish or left blurred. I chose to depict and add in mine.

Step 3

Next is to start building forms. I first used light ink here with scribbles working round it. Now it is showing something tangible.

Step 4

The next step is to use a darker ink to shade. Focus should be on the dark portions where there are core shadows. Now it could be noticed.

Step 5

And finally, a introduced a tip marker brush. This would help me get more tones and shadows.
