Lady With Tribal Marks - Pen Drawing

20231120_141857.jpg

Hi all, greetings.

Here is my new pen drawing. It's a pen drawing of a beautiful young lady with special marks on her face and hairstyle.

Ladies what do they call this type of hairstyle? Two horns? I always see some ladies plait this kind of hairstyle but I don't know the name. Today, I found one interesting to draw and I thought it would be the best time to ask and get to know about it.

This model I drew has a tribal mark on her face. She reminds me of the golden era when most new born babies were being given some marks on their faces. Some grew up and don't fancy it especially the ones with heavy marks.

But I think this one is cool and they made her look unique. Do your clan and tradition still practice such? I believe most of the marks do have meanings behind them.

This piece was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper. I used scribble technique to build my forms. Below are my steps:

Thank you.

I think this hairstyle is "Chuku" I might not get the spelling correct but that's what I normally hear most people call it. You drew her so well, she looks beautiful with the tribal mark

Chuku? Umm, I don't think so. Or you meant to say Shuku? Yeah, I think shuku is more of a braided hair that is being gathered and tied at the back of the hair. I'm guessing this is called "Double buns" and "Double Shuku" from my research so far.
